Deck discussion for Modern: Land Ramp

scute mob would work really well here. similar to the vinelasher, but for only G to play. it does not get big as fast, but once it gets big, it keeps growing. "There are always more scute bugs." :)

Wow, I never thought of that. I really like Scute Mob. I'll add some!

I was looking around the vault, and there are a few cards that I saw that might go well in a land deck. maybe not this one, but perhaps. Nature's emergance, and eath surge.

Cool ramp. It's not really my style, but it seems like it plays really well.

Thanks for your comment, by the way!

I get what youre trying to do here, but I'm concerned that with so much land, you'll begin having more issues of getting the cards you need through basic draw when you need it. With blue, consider splashing in some draw mechanics to help refill your hand. With so much ramp, you can really afford to shave the count down a bit, you won't miss a couple of +1/+1 counters as the size of the Mob and Kudzu will be 'enough' as it is.

Hope these ideas help! Should you get a moment, I welcome any feedback you could offer to my Mind Over Matter deck ( http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=145831 ). Or, if that deck doesn't suit your fancy, feel free to click on my name to see my complete deck list. Thanks!

Wow thanks! What do you think of adding Ponder? What card(s) would you take out?

Easy, add in the Ponders in place of land. You could easily shave down to 24 land total which will make room for 4 Ponders and 4 of any other combination.

I added a playset of Ponder and a playset of Phantasmal Image. What do you think? Was the Phantasmal Image a good card to add?

I don't think Image is necessary with all of the clone effects in here.

random thought... if you wanted lots of lands, you could throw in spell book and treasure hunt. Treausre hunt allows you to draw cards from the top of your library until you draw a non-land card. it is only 1U to play. :)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but Primeval Titan ramps like crazy.

only problem with him is that he needs ramp to get out in the first place, seeing a how he is 6 mana to play.

What does this ramp into? Rite of Replication?

It puts in more Scute Mob's or Primeval Titan's to you can ramp up the Vinelasher's

Instead of Overrun you should use Overwhelming Stampede, for the same mana cost and you only need a 4/4 creature to make it immediately better. Anything after that is just a bonus and usually a game winner.

Also with you using land grab you should use Venser's Journal instead of spellbook as at least you get a useful additional effect as well as the same one and you shouldn't notice much of a difference with you having mana to spare.

Rampaging Baloth is really nice with the landfall you have. It could allow you to removed some of those thousands of cloning cards you have.

Avenger of Zendikar would be great in this deck. Also if you are willing to spend some money, Zuran Orb + Crucible of Worlds could give you lots of life plus more lands to play. Oracle of Mul Daya and Azusa, Lost but Seeking are great land accelerators, especially if you have Zuran Orb and Crucible of Worlds.

I would suggest harrow instead of rampant growth. It actually is that much better. And honestly with so much ramp you should run brainstorm instead of ponder. Brainstorm works so much better when you have are shuffling your deck.

I dont think you need venser's journal, you don't have a whole lot of draw mechanics going on. You could probably drop those for 2 rampant growth, or another small creature.
