As for your deck two things:
Normally you want to keep your deck around 60 cards (helps with consistency).
Also you probably don't want to go with more than 20 lands for this deck or for most decks (nothing is worse than drawing lands
when you don't need them).

There is a creature card called Guile that allows for you to make infinite bird tokens with Dovescape. You may want to include it.

Ah thats right I always forget Sun's Champion is one more. Nevermind then great deck.

I really like this deck but why that Elspeth and not Sun's Champion?

1: Budget
2: They both have abilities for destroying creatures in case of the deck being too slow.

My only worry is that swiftspear does retain the boost and phalanx leader may be tough to cast quickly. Or am I just over-thinking this?

I agree with you but this is just something me and some friends are doing so it should (in theory) not get completely destroyed.
