This is the deck I have been taking to FNM for the past few weeks.I have yet to play against the U/R control decks, but other than that I've played against most of the current meta and haven't had much of a problem.Felidar Retreat and Starnheim Unleashed deals with the mirror. My dorks are bigger and more plentiful than their dorks. The inclusion of Field Trip and Borrowed Time fills out the curve and gives this deck clean answers to otherwise problematic cards like Koma.I have often considered dropping Koma for Tolovar's Huntmaster, but I want blue for the sideboard options and Koma is currently the best payoff for ramp.Blue Black Control can deal with most of the things in this deck, but just the shear number of tokens this deck makes, along with Hall of Storm Giants is apparently too much for it. At least the versions I've played against.I haven't dropped a game to Mono Green Aggro, which is the deck I've played the most against at this point.I can't seem to take game 1 against Grixis Control, but post sideboard seems to favor me slightly. This match up is very close.I think Izzet Dragons or Izzet Control would be problematic for this deck, but nobody at my local scene owns Goldspan Dragons, so I haven't had the opportunity to find out yet.
The ideal curve is as follows;Turn 2: mana dorkTurn 3: Esika's ChariotTurn 4: Wrenn and Seven make a 4/4 Treefolk. Use Treefolk to crew chariot and swing for 8, use chariot trigger to make another Treefolk.Of course, this doesn't happen all too often. This deck can also turn 2 foretell Starnheim and turn 3 make a 4/4 Angel.Felidar Retreat also makes plenty of blockers, or just makes our team bigger.Weirdly enough I don't care for Koma. I hardly ever cast it, and it is often discarded to Field Trip if I don't want a lesson from my sideboard.
