Deck Description

Friday Budget -series (earlier known as 50 Budget) takes the budget-playing into the next stage. Using cards to build decks with under 50 buck mid-value, Friday Budget -series tries to help you build new decks and use new ideas.
If there is any deck you would like to see as Friday Budget, please, let me know.

How to Play

Inspired by xStormyx.

"Gnawed to death. Bad way to go."
-Squirrel Wrangler

Even though Squirrels are cute little critters and all, they are devilish monsters inside. Just let them be for a moment and they are all over you. They'll gnaw you. They'll kill you. They'll eat you.
...Unless you are their master of course.

Sideboard Door of Destinies? Might help when you cast Squirrel Mob and Woodland Changeling.

Tfw swarmyard costs 7$. The lignify is very flavourful in this deck. You turn something into a tree and your squirrels gnaw it down, genius.

'An army of squirrels is still an army'...how fitting XD

Some suggestions:
- Parallel Lives for extra tokens
- Deranged Hermit for Nut Collector (extra tokens. Also, the threshold might not always work since you might flashback some cards etc)
- Overrun (end-game)

Have fun XD

Parallel Lives is too expensive; this deck is budget

I did one once, but guess I can create another.

Considering the large amount of additional scry cards that have come out resently it wouldn't be a bad idea.

You should swap Llanowar Elves for Arbor Elf. Both count as a green, but Arbor can untap a squirrel nest land.

Also, Skyshroud Claim is a better version of Ranger's Path

no because you have to deal damage to you or one of your creatures and you have to pay mana

Does it HAVE to be budget? =(
Because Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest gives you an infinite combo right there...
Think of the result. Infinite squirrels, infinite teeth, infinite bites...

north can you make a deck that exploits the effect of Torpor Orb and make a friday budget

0

I got a deck that abuses Torpor Orb for you:

Not budget, but if you take out the Phyrexian Dreadnoughts, the deck will be half of the cost. Just replace them with 4 Demonlord of Ashmouth...but hard to go wrong with a 1-mana 12/12 trample.....

Heh, bout time somebody made a budget squirrel deck! The only thing I think would be truly cinematic would be overrun.... "Being trampled by squirrels... I'm not even mad... I'm impressed..."

+2 if I could

How about Echoing Courage? Give all squirels +2+2? instead of maybe lignify?

0

Most decks should have some form of removal i guess? Lignfys most important text is "has no abilities" so it can shut down allot of annoying creatures, and its not a dead draw instead on a big effect like courage, as it allows your horde of fluffy fluff rats to attack more safely.

Though i get what you mean, this deck only has 5 finishers...but then again most of the time you only need to draw one...
