Inspired and requested by Gothy. You wanted a modern Spike deck? Well, this is pretty much as Spike as a deck can be.Cast some small Infect hitters, then cast some cheap buff up and go in for kill. Really simple, and really deadly.

Cool cool! What is spike?
Spike is a deck that tries to win as quickly and as ruthlessly as possible. It only cares about winning. They usually lack kill spells and late game cards, and they usually attempt on winning during early game. There are some exceptions, but the main thing is always the same: everything or nothing.Usually Spike-playing is boring, but effective. (<-My opinion.)
So it is every infect deck?
That is an incorrect definition of Spike. A Competitive deck, referred to as spike sometimes, do NOT have to be aggro but can be any sort of deck, midrange, aggro or control, they do not lack kill spells or late game cards but vary from deck to deck, it is for sure not everything or nothing. Spike playing is the most interesting way of playing magic because its too people mentally battling it out with tonnes more ways, yet still having tonnes of fun in the more relaxed moments.
Sounds like Magic... Lol.
http://www.reddit.com/r/spikes/"Spike is the competitive player. Spike plays to win. Spike enjoys winning. To accomplish this, Spike will play whatever the best deck is. Spike will copy decks off the Internet. Spike will borrow other players’ decks."
Then someone needs to update the definition, because that is offensive in my opinion just to say I'm there to win. Most people get a thrill from winning sure, but that isn't the reason that all my friends play.
I'm not sure how that is offensive, it's just the definition of what a Spike is. I'm not necessarily trying to say that this is how you are, I don't know you. It just seemed to be that there was some debate as to what a Spike really is, so I went and grabbed the definition.
Why R/G and not U/G? thanks tho
Actually, my friend plays R/G infect with bloodrush and holy...that thing hits hard.
I'm sure, but the U/G statistically hits harder and is more reliable
@GothyI wanted to add the possible turn 2 kill combo.
Elf, 2 pump and mutagenic growth- turn 2 kill in every single infect deck, I've played infect for over a year xD
well the deck let say my fist deck with a littlie twitch but it was land fall because the first rar i got wus the pit fighter
hey i plane on making a limetned deck so1:dok 2:kot or 3:frthe kans block the one with the most votes win and probly say it rare to get the cards
Hey! If you don't already have one, you should see if it's possible to make a budget hatebear deck!
Nice. Any room for mutagenic growths? I'd also suggest invigorate but I saw the post was for modern.
Could you make a budget Gahiji, Honored one EDH with Infect as the primary theme? It would be pretty weird and Phyrexian swarmlord would be a house in the deck.
Rootbound Crag is so much better in this deck than the temple.
Looks like an awesome red green budget deck. The only thing I would include would be rancor over tread upon if money permits.
colossal might instead of tread upon?
