Deck Description

Are you bored? Does Magic: The Gathering feel old and vapid? Got any useless bucks in your bank account? Ladies and Gentlemen, I have solution.
Use your bank account on nearest MTG marketplace website and buy some cheap cards, craft a deck, and challenge your friends! To double the fun, ask your friend to create such a deck too!
The Budget Decks -series is meant for your free time! These are meant to inspire you, and deck's value is meant to be low! (Between 10 and 20 bucks.)

How to Play

Inspired by exodd1994.

Your opponent has to choose... Between two bad choices...
"Shall I take 5 damage from Blazing Salvo or let my important creature die? Shall I discard one of these control cards or lose 5 life thanks to Painful Quandary? Shall I make that Phoenix immortal or huge? Okay... My opponent's turn again... Shall I pay life or kill my creature to prevent the card draw from that Tormentor? Ohh no, he is attacking with that Ogre Marauder again... Where's my expendable creatures when I need them?"
-Your opponent

Let's say that your decks are so effective yet so cheap people get the urge to instantly buy them.

Ohh, my... You guys made me blush... I'm embarrassed now...

Now that you're blushing, I'm trying to build a black devotion deck.
First I had 4x Master of the Feast in it but that card is way too expensive.
So now I need a cheap replacement, any ideas?

How about Herald of Torment?

Hmm...he is an option, and a 3/3 with flying for only 1 life/turn isn't bad.
I'll add it!

here's the deck link by the way: http://www.mtgvault.com/darius/decks/black-devotion/

going off what blewis said, your budget decks, because they are so good and you make so many of them, the combonation of the cheapness and abundance of the decks makes you buy so many more of them then you would regular, non-budget decks that it actually makes you spend MORE money than you would on regular decks because THEY ARE SO DANG GOOD!!

Exactly. They're cheap, but when they look so fun to play that they make me want to buy them all.. well, they add up! Haha.

Northy, I'd really like your input on my Sliver deck if you have a chance. I've had decent luck with it so far, but I'm wondering if I should trim down the number of creatures and maybe add some other spells (i.e. some removal, enchants?) or if you think it looks okay as is. If you get a chance to check it out I'd really appreciate it.

Again a request to make it Modern format.
I'd be happy if you could put some Modern alternatives in the sideboard, I'd learn a lot from it.

Cool deck! Honestly great work. I have really gotten so many ideas and inspirations from your decks. I built another budget deck, this one under $20 and for multiplayer. Most of my games are with friends and multiplayer. Having the same old decks gets boring, so a new deck, and a cheap one is always welcome!

Suggestion: Geth's Verdict over ultimate price perhaps?

0

Don't worry about creating decks for playing with friends and multiplayer. I think that playing with friends is the best thing in MTG! Thank the lord I have bunch of friends to play with. We play every Friday.
...and about Geth's Verdict, otherwise I would immediately say yes, but the rough casting cost could be problematic, since it requires two black. I may not be able to cast it on turn 2 to kill that goddamn Invisible Stalker... But I guess I could add it.

Ya I figured the two black casting cost was a draw back, but I thought it would be safe with the myrs, plus the benefit of it being any creature and -1 life over a multicolor creature was worth it ;)

dash hopes goes well with painful qaundry. they pay to cast it, then you counter it with dash hopes and they either let it slip or have to pay a second time. possibly 10 life for one cast from them

If your in for a challenge check this?

Forcing someone to make these decisions is pretty much my favourite thing in Magic. Losing a game means nothing, but realizing you lost to your own choices hurts.

Im so getting this built for my next mtg night with friends. they will hate me.. Thanks Northern :)

maybe you can help me tie this one up? It kind of diverted to what I orignally attempted, which was a deck that forced grave pact through sacrifice effects, with some revival. I picture like a sacrificing a gravecraler to some effect, then that triggers grave pact and then i can revive grave crawler and do it all again.

If you have time let me know your thoughts.

And all credit goes to Northern Warlord as he has inspired me and his hard work deserves praise. I want to bring the community some Budget MULTIPLAYER decks. Please check my decks out. I will check your multiplayer decks out. As when playing with a bunch of friends, multiplayer is key. I hope you support me on this Northern as you get a lot of props and your support would really help!

I'm not begging for comments on my deck, please just share it around so people can see how broken it is and then email wizards to try to get them to alter this screw up. If you want.
