Deck Description

Are you bored? Does Magic: The Gathering feel old and vapid? Got any useless bucks in your bank account? Ladies and Gentlemen, I have solution.
Use your bank account on nearest MTG marketplace website and buy some cheap cards, craft a deck, and challenge your friends! To double the fun, ask your friend to create such a deck too!
The Budget Decks -series is meant for your free time! These are meant to inspire you, and deck's value is meant to be low! (Between 10 and 20 bucks.)

How to Play

Inspired by Jessie and the Aristocrat format.
The basics of this format are:
-Two rares, which both must be different ones. (No mythics.)
-12 Uncommons. They must be 4 different sets of three cards.
-Rest are commons. Which must contain 4 different sets of three commons. Rest are allowed to have only 3 as a maximum playset size.
-Sideboards should contain 1 rare, 3 uncommons, 8 commons (two full playsets).

So, I made a beast deck around this Aristocrat format. Hope you like it.
Enjoy.

Deck discussion for Budget Decks: Aristocrat Beast

Very straight forward and solid, you know it has my love!
You have creature removal.
Trample.
Draw.
Damage prevention.
Artifact/enchantment removal

Good stuff!!
Is there cards that regenerate Beasts? Might suggest that.

Good job Northy!!!!!

There is the Krosan Beast for that :)

but unfortunately, I think it's uncommon.

Great deck though XD

Your deck and Northy's would make a great match, against each other.

Have you considered Fangren Pathcutter?
He gives trample to all attacking creatures when he attacks.

I like the simplicity of this deck, it looks fun & yet quite strong...

I'd use another Packleader & I'm not sure what Howlhenge does here, cuz it's completely filler material... ...Mold Shambler should be sideboard... ...How about a couple Rancor? Any version of Garruk? Though this is budget, so I got carried away... ...sorry!...... :)

Anyway, if you had the time, please check out some of my decks... ...I donno' how much you're in for standard, but my very reacent decks, as well as most of my decks are standard...

Here is my Mono-Green standard: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/nissa-hydra-breedmaster/

The Abzan Walker/Token/Midrange: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/solemn-superfriends-of-abzan/

Temur Midrange: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/revel-in-savagery/

...& the 4 color control one: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/perilous-wealth/

I believe these are my promising new decks & if you could give any feedback on any of these, I'd be glad, cuz I want to perfect them very soon...

Leatherback Baloth seems like a fairly obvious addition because you aren't running any 3-drop creatures. I would drop Brushstrider for it, evening out the curve is important and the Baloth is the more powerful creature. Krosan Warchief and Rancor are also worth a look, but with the uncommon restriction they might not work out. Harrow seems sick in this deck as well, playing it turn 3 then using the two forests to play a Kalonian Tusker or Garruk's Companion is pretty powerful. I would try these changes:

-3 Brushstrider
+3 Leatherback Baloth

-3 Strength in Numbers
+3 Harrow

Sorry to rain on this decks thunder, but I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on building a deck? I want to make a competitive modern deck based around Garruk, Apex Predator. The colors obviously have to at least be g/b, but i was thinking of going either Sultai or Abzan ( Just wanted to use the new names ). I was thinking of doing a kind of "midrange" while using hydras in combination with Jarad. Nothing's set in stone, I'd just really like it to be built around Garruk, and still keep it somewhat cheap ( Under $300 preferably ).

Of course. We can do it something like this:

Step 1: Start the deck.
Step 2: Add some cards that you want to use.
Step 3: Make the deck unlisted.
Step 4: Send me link to it.
Step 5: Wait.
Step 6: Profit!

Brushstrider < Krosan Warchief
I know Wirewood Savage isn't a beast, but he helps on the draw factor.

Hey northy. I propose a duel. This aristocrat deck ...

... verus this soul-eating burn deck.

http://www.mtgvault.com/knightofthehokeypokey/decks/budget-over-9000/sample-hand/

Oh, and you forgot Kalonian Tusker's big brother: Leatherback Baloth. 3 CMC 4/5 beast beatstick. Arguably the best green creature in the game for it's mana cost (poor kalonian tusker has to compete with deadly recluse). Oh, and it's only an uncommon.

I would have to remove a set of Uncommons in order to fit it...

Hmm ... that's a tough one. Look at it this way: it's comparable to spiked baloth
