Do not mistake this deck to be focusing on the 'Ally' creature type. I merely decided to craft a series of ally-colored decks with a lot of newbie friendliness! If you are unfamiliar with what "ally-colored" means, let me explain it to you: Since the game of MTG is separated into five different colors, each and every one of them provides the game with their own unique aspects. The colors can be aligned into a "color wheel" which explains their co-operations and clashes with other colors. The wheel could be visioned as following (apologies for the poor image quality):https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mtgsalvation_gamepedia/images/e/e1/Color_Wheel.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20060415063339So, colors aligned next to each other (Red and Green, for example,) could be called ALLIED colors, because they share some of the same aspects between each other. The colors on the opposite sides of the wheel are called ENEMY colors, since the themes they include clash with each other more than with the allied colors. This doesn't mean that enemy-colored decks cannot be made, but the themes and synergies between allied colors are often easier to grasp. In conclusion, utilize this knowledge pondering the colors when crafting your decks! This is a Budget Deck (BD for short). It is meant primarily for casual play, and its estimated mid value is aimed to land between 10 and 20 US dollars at most. Take this detail into consideration when browsing the deck!I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills. So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.https://www.mtgvault.com/northernwarlord/budget/
Links to the other decks of this series are available below:The theme of the Gruul newbie deck is power: Here indeed does might make right! Cast creatures that either have a considerable power, have ways of buffing up others, or growing up themselves! Begin the game with Nessian Hornbeetle, Mogg Flunkies or Timberland Guide, then proceed to cast cards such as Rubblebelt Rioters or Wildwood Patrol, allowing you to begin a powerful assault! The sideboard offers ideas to develop this deck towards different directions:Adding Gigantomancer and Explore by removing Mogg Flunkies and Rubblebelt Raiders allows you to make this deck more lategame-oriented. Removing 2x Enlarge, 1x Rubblebelt Raiders and 1x Forest, then adding 4x Colossal Might makes this deck more viable for early game aggression. The third path could be to remove 3x Rubblebelt Rioters, 2x Savage Twister and 2x Enlarge to include 4x Sunder Shaman and 3x Colossal Might to turn the deck into more of a creature-focused midrange beatdown. This deck requires its player to know these details: - Haste. A keyword that allows creatures to attack the turn they enter the battlefield. - Trample. An ability which causes an attacking creature to deal any excess damage it deals to the defending player. - A +1/+1 counter. When a creature gets a +1/+1 counter, it gets +1 to its power and +1 to its toughness as long as it remains on the battlefield. It is suggested to use dice to mark these counters on creatures, since often they can really stack up!Statistics: (out of 5)- Deck Speed: <><><><> (How quick the deck is?)- Creature Focus: <><><><><> (How much this deck relies on creatures?)- Creature Size: <><><> (How big are the main creatures of this deck?)- Card Synergy: <><><> (Do the cards of the deck help out each other well?)- Card Value: <><> (How much card advantage can you get out of your cards?)- Level of Complexity: <> (How hard this deck is to properly play?)Pros:+ Can begin its assault early on.+ Maintains a steady growth throughout the game.Cons:- Vulnerable to instant-speed responses.- Dislikes enemy healing.
