Deck Description

I designed a deck like a LONG time ago, but decided to give it another shot since now there are handy cards that are both lands and spells. It unfortunately isn't quite standard, but with small adjustments it just could be. Perhaps we will see some handy, small creatures that benefit from spells soon enough?

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.

How to Play

As mentioned, this deck is ALMOST standard. Perhaps it could be made into one, provided you can find the needed early-game threats.

This deck is centered around the idea of having one or two creatures on the field that greatly benefit from instantaneous spellcasting. Quirion Dryad, Deeproot Champion and Brineborn Cutthroat are all creatures that fit nicely into the category. The first step of your gameplay will be to get (at least) one of these onto the field. Since two of these three creatures are green, the landbase has been adjusted accordingly: you are going to need more islands than forests for sure, but you MUST have at least one forest (or similar land that taps for green) every single game.

Once the stage has been set, the game truly begins. Prevent your opponents from killing your creature with counterspells and similar responses, all while beating them down slowly and steadily. A couple of card draw and bounce spells can be used as combat tricks to deal with the blockers your opponent managed to slip through during their first couple of turns. Keep controlling the board until you can beat the bits of crap out of your opponent.

The sideboard contains some handy cards that can help you against certain strategies.

Deck discussion for BD: Magecraft Mastery

Stormwing entity, mistral singer, and jeskai elder would be a good replacement for the non-standard creatures
