Deck Description

WHAT? IS THAT A D&D REFERENCE IN A GAME OWNED BY THE SAME PEOPLE AS THE ONES WHO OWN D&D? IMPOSSIBLE.

This is a Budget Deck (BD for short). It is meant primarily for casual play, and its estimated mid value is aimed to land between 10 and 20 US dollars at most. Take this detail into consideration when browsing the deck!

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.

How to Play

To be honest, I really disliked Zendikar Rising. The mechanics felt forced and boring, and had nothing of the simplistic charm that the original Zendikar had. This deck might be a bit late (since Zendikar Rising will rotate out of standard soon enough anyway), but I realized I hadn't made a deck out of this archetype yet. So, here we are.

Slap some dudes who pretend like they are in D&D onto the field. Woohoo. You get the idea.

Statistics, pros and cons. Consider reading these, especially if you are a newbie!

Statistics: (out of 5)
- Deck Speed: <><><> (How quick the deck is?)
- Creature Focus: <><><><><> (How much this deck relies on creatures?)
- Creature Size: <><> (How big are the main creatures of this deck?)
- Card Synergy: <><><><> (Do the cards of the deck help out each other well?)
- Card Value: <><><>(How much card advantage can you get out of your cards?)
- Level of Complexity: <><><> (How hard this deck is to properly play?)

Pros:
+ A heavy "win more" strategy: the more dudes you have, the easier it gets to get powerful plays out of your other cards.

Cons:
- If your dudes get culled on the spot, you are not only without any creatures, you also realize how bad the spells of this deck really are. Who could've seen it coming?

Deck discussion for BD: A Bad D&D Ripoff

Wanna know what is scarier than D&D in mtg? my little pony in mtg.

that being said, I think this is a good build. and I like the stats. great breakdown. concerted defense is a bonkers counter spell.

Yea, I've heard of this before.

I just think that it is quite a cheap move for Wizards to try to use their recognizability in one in exchange for another. I think it at worst eats away the identities of both games and at best just procudes a little more content for both. The best implementation of this is likely the MTG-supplements in D&D 5E, which is firm enough to provide guidance to curious DM's while still being vague enough to allow for unique interpretations.

One example is the Ravnica supplement. I think it is okay, but I still do not think that every single MTG world deserves its place in D&D, and vice versa.

I often forget the buy up chain of wotc.
But at some point hasbro bought them, and disney brought hasbro, and d&d got bought before disney entered the scene.

I think the my little pony move is about making magic more accessible for girls which are a so far unexplored player base.

There was a time in magic where I've seen and heard enough about girls to take and interest in how girls could warp the meta in terms of deck favourites.

And here's the deal, the goth environment dragged a lot more girls into the game, so the better marketing angle will be goth and emo, and when looking at it that way, crimson vow and kamigawa neon dynasty will likely bring the goth and the emo types to the game.

I personally love the guts it takes for someone to dress up vampire style and drag the girl/boyfriend to a tournament in full cosplay, with bloddy eye lenses an black fingernails.

A group of goth people entered my play area around the years where omnitell was popular.

Getting more girls into the game is a solid marketing move, and frankly, I like having them at tournaments, as well as the goths and the emos.

The whole zendikar thing with vampires trying to strike deals with older gods is lovecraftian which does appeal to the goth/emo universe and was likely why they started appearing in my game area.
