Tetsuko Umezawa

by Norro on 22 April 2018

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (16 cards)

Sorceries (2)

Artifacts (2)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

How to Play

You almost want to mulligan to get Tetsuko in hand, but that isn't really necessary due to card draw. Tactical attacks against your opponent's face must be made until Tetsuko comes out. This isn't really a blocking sort of deck unless absolutely desperate/necessary. Trepanation Blade is a secondary win con, which can be side boarded with Mindshrieker for added effect. Latchkey can be side boarded for the shrike if you find yourself needing that much more card draw. Day's undoing in super desperate situations, Notorious Throng for the win! Sideboard Surrakar Spellblade for Cold-Eyed Selkie, Crashing Drawbridge for Days Undoing.

Deck discussion for Tetsuko Umezawa

Have you ever thought about Mind Shirker? swing as a 1/1 when no blocks are declared, just have at it and make it huge

I have not, though I think I saw it in "The gatherer" and thought it an interesting option? I like the premise of the deck so far, but there's a lot of permutations!

A short description would be a nice idea.
Maybe Impaler Shrike instead of Latchkey Faerie. The fairy costs more to play and brings only 1 card while the Shrieker is cheaper to play, brings 3 cards but has to be sacrificed for this benefit.

Yeah, I've yet to actually play test this deck! The plan is to do so this weekend, but maybe I'll add my theoretical synopsis. Main deck Shrike might be good, side board latchkey. I'll try that first!
