Flipping them in modern is too inconsistent. You only have 1 reliable way to flip them with serum visions and you can't fetch if thats the case. In Legacy you have ponder, brainstorm, and occasionally preordain.I'm also moving away from Delver in the build as a whole. It's significantly worse game 2. Makes them keep in extra targeted removal for them when your really just attempting to clear the way for Geist. So I guess the deck is incorrectly named and should be Esper Geist. Your goal isnt to win with delver. It's to pressure them so they have to play strangely later. Your actual win cons are Tar Pit and Geist while the rest of the deck is there to protect them.

indeed they are.
You don't know how you would win with this deck? It's essentially cawblade but slightly more based on clogging the board with blockers and still flying over their heads with a sword or with a swarm of 1/1s. Gideon, Sun Titan, and Elesh Norn give you reach, while Lingering Souls and Squadron Hawks give you inevitability. You don't win with sheer power, you win with finesse. The goal is to never over extend, playing 1 set of spirits, 1 hawk at a time and keeping card advantage in your favor. So far it has shown a good match up against Modern Infect, UW Delver/Geist decks, Jund, and Living End through inevitability of your card advantage and hate in the board. So far I've noticed huge issues with the RDW match up and other control decks. But this can Grind down games if played correct'y control so I see it as bad draws and bad plays rather than a downfall of the deck. I would love to have the lands I need for this deck so I can see it at it's finest but that will take another $200 or so.
Running Humans without Hero of Bladehold? the fact she just win games is insanely relevant and the lack of angelic destiny is also a mistake in my opinion. You also run Sun Titans and Gideons in your build? How consistently do you hit that mana? Same with Gavony Township. I feel if you have the mana avaiable and are activating or dropping these creatures instead of winning the game you're making a mistake. Especially since you're also running mentor which seems questionable since you should be curving out as optimally as possible. also no 4 of Doomed traveler? he's way better than parish is in my opinion. I've been running Haunted Humans since rotation and I can say doomed traveler is more relevant of a card than champion of the parish is every time. I would just focus down the list to contain more efficient cards that are more reliable and better uses of mana than what you have available in this build.
The deck is faster than yours so like the other aggro match ups I try to slow my deck down while supplying dual threats. So what I brought in were the fiend hunters and Oblivion ring since the target killing illusions and it doesnt run much counter magic(at least the version I was playing didn;t, it was splashing white for moorland haunt). I had a tough time vs this deck, probably the toughest match up I had all day. I would have to sit down and try the match up a couple of times before I could tweek the sideboard enough to be comfortable.
Elspeth is too high on the curve and would only really benefit the control match-up vs UW which you should be able to out race anyways.
12 artifacts, metalcraft for 4 damage has a huge upside.
the deck ran Kuldotha Phoenix when it was running 8x ramp artifacts but now that it's only running sphere the ability for you to recur it to metal craft has severely dropped. Chandra's phoenix is a constant source of damage seeing as you run so many damage instants and sorceries. Personally I see this as an aggro deck that can run at Control speed. the deck is fast yet control tempoed.
Thanks again, all that made a lot of sense. After some testing I really think you're right about Elesh Norn. I think I want her in deck or another Sun Titan. Sphinx is another option but that would make the deck a bit top heavy. I'll have to dig out my probes and test those out as well.
Thanks for the advice, I have a couple questions. I know the value of blade splicer but in a more aggro(UW, WG, GR) FNM setting wouldnt Mirran crusader be better? I havent seen many Solar Flare decks around my area yet. And I understand your reasoning for gitaxian probe. but isn,t the ability to feign mana leak and draw a card EOT just as valuable? Moorland haunt was an option but I was think I wouldnt want to get rid of the Crusaders due to Sun titan. Also Mind control should probably be a Volition Reins due to the amount of Elspeths in the area or another Day.
nice comment bro.
I like how this deck has been posted quite a bit here and has even gotten its own legacy post on SCG but still gets so many likes for no reason.
