This is my first MTG deck after some friends got me into it. After I got some of the intro decks, manifest sounded neat and I wanted to try to use Cloudform. As with a lot of my deck builds right now I feel like it is a little all over the place and not boiled down enough (I also have a pretty big maybe pile). I think you can see the general strategy I had in my head, though. I am just a little familiar with deck strategies (only from looking around online), so I am not sure if this conforms very well to anything. I have some nice early creatures in there, but I'm not sure I could deal with heavy aggro or a board wipe.
The idea is to start out early game with Elvish Mystic, Frost Walker, Triton Shorestalker and progress with Cloudform, Wildcall, and the rest of the stronger creatures with Solidarity of Heroes. I wanted a good amount of bounce in there since there is a good chance you will manifest non-creatures that you might want, and it's nice that you can also get rid of buffed-up threats the enemy has with the same cards. For a similar reason I tried to squeeze in scry and Taigam's Scheming. From looking around at decks and popular strategies I think that Neutralizing Blast is a very strong card and I am thinking about putting it in the main board, but it is already quite full

I would take out, frost walker, ghostfire blade, triton shorestalker, dictate of karametra, wildcall, nature's panoply, solidarity of heroes, peel from reality, and kheru spellsnatcher they really just dont seem fitting here, or are very underwhelming in this deck

Thanks, can you tell me why and/or alternatives to replace themI was thinking:-Ghostfire blade for the manifests/morphs-Karametra because I thought it was mana heavy (helps for Wildcall/Solidarity too)-Wildcall for Hooded Hydra (and for other stuff in general, could be good on Shorestalker)-Nature's Panoply for Wildcall/Solidarity-Solidarity to work with Hydra, Master of Pearls, Ghostfire-Peel from Reality to get a manifest sorcery/instant and to bounce back one of their buffed up dudes-Kheru no specific reason, I just thought the effect was good and I have lots of manifests
Imo, ghostfire blade just looks pretty weak overall, and karametra because it also helps the enemy, not just you, nature's panoply is in general only very good with heroic and such, not so much just base buffing, solidarity could work well with hydra, but again, is better in a heroic deck, peel from reality could be replaced with something like unsummon since it would suck for them to have a really big guy, but you only have 1 guy out that you dont wanna have to get rid of, and kheru could be replaced with something like cancel, or any cancel spell in general. and its also better to have a low amount of cards, i run 60 in almost all of my decks
Ok I see, I also saw how all decks have 60 cards exactly, any reason for that when there is no limit? Also passed over a couple:-Frost walker I just thought was a really good early creature, 2 cost for 4 power is really strong and if you cloudform it you get rid of its negative ability + it gets flying-Triton Shorestalker because I wanted more 1 drops and if you cloudform him it could be pretty good. Same thing with Chasm Skulker but I couldn't find a way to fit him in
Most decks have 60 cards because its small, and you can easily get what you need, which is why they mostly have a couple different cards with 4 of each, so it gets right to the point. And the problem with frost walker, is any 1/1 with first strike can kill it easily, and triton shorestalker can work well, but just very underwhelming without the right cards in hand
And honestly, i would say to just take out the white cards, the white monk can be replaced with something like overrun, and gods willing could be replaced with a feed the pack, so if you sac hooded hydra, you got a bunch of wolves and snakes
Thanks for the suggestions but I want it to be a standard deck
Maybe Overwhelm? just doesn't have trample, and has convoke, for a possible 2 drop all creatures +3/+3
Yeah that could work. Do you think it is too expensive? Also in a case like with overwhelm (or master of pearls) and then solidarity, will they lose all +6/+6 at end of turn or only half of it?
Sadly those bonuses dont count as +1/+1 counters, thats why cards like solidarity are best with heroic cards.
Oh I see what you mean then, I'll have to take another look at it
But if you really really want +1/+1 counters, i would look into abzan cards, and incremental growth is good too
Thanks I will probably look at Abzan because I was thinking about trying to make a prowess/heroic deck with R/W
I used to run some abzan with heroic, and some prowess, but that turned into full on heroic lol. Seeker of the way is really strong, and an awesome heroic would be anax and cymede
I got a R/W aggro deck up http://www.mtgvault.com/nirc/decks/rw-aggro-help-wanted/ if you wanna see
http://www.mtgvault.com/khzfrost/decks/rw-heroicprowess-budget/ this is my take on heroic/prowess, made a little while back
Thanks I'll take a look at it
