THIS IS SUPER GOOD TOO I CAN ALWAYS DRAW THE RIGHT SIX CARDS IN MY HAND AND HOPE MY OPPONENT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO POSSIBLE TURN ONE PLAYS AND ALSO IS BAD.

so explain to me why is this unlikely to happen? you have 20 cards you can use for red mana in the deck so your chance of getting 1 land with a 7 card hand is 19.9% if you mulligan its 26.3% your chance of getting 1 Spark Elemental, Lightning Serpent, Raging Goblin, or Glitterfang, 29.2% odds are you will get 2 (33.7%) and with a 38.1% chance of geting a Progenitus or a Dragon Tyrant or a Decree of Annihilation the hardest card to get will be the Blazing Shoal but out of starting hands i opened with a turn 0 wining hand 36 times thats not the best odds the problem i had almost every time was i did not get Blazing Shoal........ still very good odds lol 36-out of -50 thats like 72% i believe so it would win almost 3 4ths of the time

PLZ correct my math if it is wrong

My first-turn-win decks are not meant to have a deep strategy. The whole point of the deck is to show how awesome it COULD be. True, the possibilities can be fairly low, but when you DO get the right hand, its basically an automatic win.

the red myojin is also a 10CC creature that could fill the spot needed for blazing shoal

Also, your math is completely off. You obviously don't understand how probability works. Let me explain.

First card drawn, you have a 4/60 chance of drawing Progenitus. Second card, 4/59. Third - 4/58. Fourth - 4/57. Fifth - 4/56. Sixth - 4/55. Seventh, assuming you drew one your sixth, 3/54. Add the last two draws given that you drew Progenitus both times, and you get a whopping 5.69%! Those are the HIGHEST POSSIBLE odds of you JUST drawing two Progenitus your opening hand. Imagine what the probability of getting ALL of the cards you need in your opening hand would be. This is why first turn win decks are retarted. But have fun!

your math is also off. he doesnt need progenitus only, he can use the dragon tyrant too. add that into your calculations

God, what's with everyone getting a hissy-fit about this deck?

"Probability blah blah, stupid deck blah blah"

It really takes the fun out of a possible strategy. As Ninjaawesome just said, they're not meant to be taken as a deep strategy, which can also mean they're not serious. Not that it isn't made for standard or Modern. It's kind of like making a deck with Unhinged cards: unrealistic, but interesting.

I really like the way this is going. With the 4 tutors in there, if you are not be able to get a turn 1 win, then maybe you could by turn 3 or 4.

Regardless, nice deck! I'm going to consider making something of similar nature.

It's not that people disagree with the strategy and combination this deck takes advantage of, its the simple matter of winning on the first turn. The odds simply just aren't reasonable. If this deck was renamed something other than "First Turn Win" it would actually be quite respectable.

First of all the deck was made around the first turn win no matter what the probabilities are hence the name, and besides all first turn wins have virtually no probability of ever happening it is just fun to think about the fact that it could happen.
Secondly and lastly the deck was made in 2009 and ninjawesome hasn't logged in since January of last year so I can guarantee you that deck's name will not change anytime soon

I was being facetious. And this guy takes first turn win pretty seriously if my judgement is correct. Look at his decks.

Sorry for ranting People in general have been annoying me the last few weeks -_-

Anyway I understand that he liked first turn wins however

1) I don't understand why people insist on bringing decks back from the dead... It would be more understandable if the creator was still logging into the vault but giving suggestions to improve a deck created by a person who hasn't logged on in well over a year just dosn't make sense. Like the guy below this (no offense bro I have nothing against you just an example). I can bet a lot of money that the creator will not look at your deck for inspiration.

2) people need to put this in perspective. I mean it is a first turn win... All first turn wins will have a horrible probability of ever happening... There is no need to discuss the actual probability

Once again sorry ahead of time for ranting a little bit

I would also add dragonstorm just so you'll have a higher chance of having something to ditch for shoal. Just a thought. Cool idea though.

I just took stats. your probability of getting what you want on the first turn would be .358%. I will try to make a deck with slightly better odds at the start but no strength in late game whatsoever and link it in a future comment.

I must have missed something.

How can you cast Blazing Shoal without the 2 red mana in your second step 2?

Don't you need a Black Lotus too?

And if you're just sacrificing any card, blightsteel colossus cost 12.

You may remove a Red card from your hand instead of paying burning shoal's mana cost.

Here's the thing I hate about Turn 1 Win decks: There is always different combonations that can be used. I have one my self that is really good and not as complicated. But as long as you win on the first turn, that's all that matters.

All this silly arguing, lol. I remember back in the day when the only way to get a first turn involved Channel and Fireball. Ignore the haters man. I give you props for finding the probability alone. Sure, it may not always work, but the fact that you found a possible first turn is awesome. I think the one downfall to this deck if you did have the first turn with a one hit win hand is Force of Will. If you care about preventing being countered I would toss in 4 Pact of Negation. If you have the first turn win hand, using Pact of Negation to kill their Force of Will will pretty much guarentee the kill, unless they happen to have 2 forces in hand lol. Anyways, great job on the deck! :)

The probability of drawing that hand is extremely low, but I still think its a neat idea, and because of those combos that I run force of will(s). Overall cool idea tho.

It's a pretty cool deck but with all the turn one wins the chances of it happening are rather low especally if you need multiple coppies of a card in your hand. I would like to offer some advice but I dont know much about turn one wins so its up to u to find if there is something u could use to make it better

0

It's a nice idea. I give you that. But still the chances of getting that turn1 kill are so small. Just for the sace of statistics I drew 26 hands, before I got the winning hand with 2 shoals, glitterfang, 1 mountain and 2 costly cards (happened to be 2x Progenitus lol). Maybe I was unlucky but still. It might be fun deck at first, but I bet it gets really boring after a few losing streaks.

This only goes to prove my point that too many people are way to serious about this game. I play in tournaments, but also for leisure. I love playing goofy shit based around insane combos like this. So don't tear your hair out because the odds aren't in your favor (Hunger Games FTW). The point is it's FUN... yes Fun. The reason most people play is for fun, so don't get so wrapped up in winning that you forget that the whole point of the game is to have fun.
