Rampant Growth was not reprinted, and this deck is currently Standard. Farseek is my (1)G mana ramp, finding anything but Forest, which Rangers Path covers nicely. Thanks for the comment!
I came to that conclusion about the Druids Delivrance, and am removing them as we speak. I have no ideas for the sideboard, and I got toasted by aggro tonight, although the deck was a bit different than it sits now, as it was hastily assembled before play. Mizzium Morters will be side board at the very least. Niblis of the Breath doesnt hit target Permenant, like Captain does. hes in there to untap Doors when you play it for a quick win. 17 mana (5 to cast, 2 to untap, 10 to crack)is not hard to come by in this deck, especially with Axebane, so being able to untap doors when you play it is nice. Thanks for the input!
ah, a miss read on the captain. this will be driving up the cost but wouldnt tamiyos work better then for what you are looking for? ya with this type of deck, aggro will not be your friend. currently working on a izzet deck that is having the same issue.
there are very few cards that do what Captain does. Tamiyo is a tap lock, basically detaining a creature, wheras Captain has the tap OR untap permanent ability. I am using him for his UNTAP. the only other card I could find in standard was Ghostly touch, and that requires an attacker...something Defenders dont do well o_O
My Izzet deck was having some problems with aggro too. I added Izzet Staticcasters, and they do well against the smaller guys. have a look: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=410672
