I am posting this deck as a budget deck, not because its super cheap, in general, but because a $120 Modern deck that can be competitive is very much budget compared to the field. So no, its not a "Northy Budget" deck, but.....deal with it? :)I got this idea online after reading about a Blistercoil/ Mantle interaction, and building a deck with all one-drop cantrips seemed to build itself. If you want the deck to be more expensive, you can run fetches and shocks.
This deck lives and dies on having 3 things in your opening hand, so its not incredibly consistent. you need a Blistercoil, A Mantle, and an Island in the opener, Ideally. Once you get Mantle on Weird, you can tap him to cats every spell in your deck, except Manamorphose, which pays for itself, and actually nets one mana if you use Weird to pay for it. your goal is to get a critical mass of spells to 1)make Wierd huge or 2) generate enough storm to kill with a Grapeshot. its not perfect, but when you have a budget, its not bad.

I made a version of this a couple months ago. Ran it twice. its great i the sense that if i have those three key cards in my opening hand, i win. theres just not much of a way around it for an opponent. i went 3-2, and it felt like i should have done worse, i literally went by luck of the draw, and mulliganed alot.

http://www.mtgvault.com/zaklax13/decks/blistercoil-storm/ my dinky version i like storm entity alot, its another good drop to go with weird, but it can halt the storm if you draw it too early...
yeah, its a loose deck, but it can be fun. I had it built for awhile but I dont like the math involved in storm decks, I prefer counting to 20, not doing a ton of math, so its not really my style.
yea i had to keep extra paper with me to keep track of spells cast and mana in the pool... it got confusing
yeah thats not fun for me....lol
im going to question faithless looting here. its almost equivalent to a dead draw, and it makes you discard 2 future cantrips. i feel it could be better served elsewhere and replaced with something like crimson wisps
Faithless Looting finds you land in a deck very obvious land problems.
fair enough. it just seems bad to me personally. if it works though, it works
this is the version i remember most. its also about half your pricetaghttp://www.mtgvault.com/zarlack135/decks/turn-2-win/
I do think its worth the extra few bucks to make sure you can cast all the spells. the red add quite a bit to the strategy.
yeah im not saying it was better. i like this one as well. it flows nicely. and manamorphose, which i RARELY ever see used ANYWHERE is in here, so props to the deckbuilder for using that wonderful gem
i like the red, gives you some more options you wouldnt always have... i mean paradise mantle gives you any color anyways
