Make yourself practically invincible (only weakness would be mutilate if your opponent has 8+ swamps)

i LOVE lockdown decks, but im confused by this one. i dont see the point to doubling season, unless its for elspeth, which would mean u have to wait and get her out on turn 6, which would kinda suck. See, if you read doubling season, it would only effect elspeth with her getting double loyalty when she comes into play, and not every turn when she uses her abilitys. adding the loyalty is part of the activation cost of the ability. doubling season states that if "if an effect causes you to add..." and paying an activation cost is not an effect. i dont know if you knew that or not, and regardless, its pretty good getting an elspeth that comes into play with 8 counters and u can use her ultimate right away, but for 6 mana its kinda pushy.. and if all your using her for is her ultimate to make the archangel indestructible, i would personally rather the enchantment "indestructibility". also id add oblivion rings and cultivates. not a bad start tho, keep it up.

the point is with the growth spasms and rampant growths you accelerate your mana and then you want doubling season BEFORE Elspeth that way you can make everything indestructible immediately after that is done you have the Archangel which makes you invincible to damage and then you have the leyline of sanctity which makes you invincible to mill so your opponent can no longer do anything unless they have a mutilate
