Going on the Serra Ascendant idea, you could throw in some soul wardens and soul's attendants. Great one drops for life gain there! Every time a creature comes into play, BAMM! you gain 1 life from each of those creatures I mentioned. Works well when used with Launch the Fleet. Won't be long until you're at 30 life with 4 x Soul Warden 4 x Soul's Attendant and 4 x Serra Ascendant. Plus they're all human so they pump up Champion of the parish.

Good adds! you could always add mentor of the meek. It won't fit the one mana theme but you can pay one mana every time a creature you control comes into play for a lot of card draw abuse! Works well with tokens too.

A lot of decks usually start taking off and explode around the three mana mark (Or at least that's what I have observed, depending on the type of deck of course) and that is precisely when this deck will run out of steam. Unless he adds card draw, I expect this deck will not do so well and probably flop because it simply will not be able to keep up the pressure.

Cool concept, I really like it but aren't you worried you'll be out of cards and top decking by turn 3? I mean, If you drop a land per turn and all your spells cost 1 mana, mathematically speaking, your hand is empty on the third turn. 4th turn if your opponent went first. With no card draw and very little ways to deal with big creatures, you better have the game locked down by turn 3 otherwise you're in trouble.

I like this deck! Although the card itself is expensive, I would recommend adding 4 Auriok Champions for even more free life gain. I have a pretty similar deck to this one myself: http://www.mtgvault.com/nihilator/decks/cabal-cannon/

I would swap out "Hada Freeblade" for "Champion of the Parish" since it's roughly the same ability except champion gains counters from soldiers instead of allies and you don't have many allies as opposed to soldiers. I would swap out both the "Veteran Armor Smith" and the "Veteran Sword Smith" for "Daru Warchief" It will give you 4 new free slots in your deck while mainting the +X/+X bonuses from the Veterans and making all your soldiers cost 1 less to play. I also think you could possibly do away with the "Coat of Arms" since you already have veterans and field marshals granting your soldiers +X/+X. The coat of arms is kind of overkill in my opinion and it might actually end up playing against you if you're facing another tribe deck, or another soldier deck for that matter.

Conspiracy + Rotlung Reanimator + Cabal Archon in an all cleric deck = Infinite damage\life gain\zombie cleric Tokens! Throw in Carnival of Souls and you've triggered an infinite clerical sacrificial instant death combo. Plus with Academy Rectors and Demonic Tutors, getting the rights cards to play this combo will be fast and easy.
