Doing a little editing, but didnt want to change the other deck, because I like its play style as well, also, this helps to document changes as I become a better player, especially in cases where I want to go more than one way in a deck, and want to have the inspiring list still handy. Tried to up the burn speed in this deck a little bit by moving some creatures out to the sideboard and adding a few artifacts for the Metalcraft ability of Galvanic Blast. *EXTENDED NOTE* If I wanted to make this extended legal, I'd drop a bit of the burn (probably some of the 1-ofs) and add in 2 Raging Goblin, then swap out the 4 Ruinous Minotaur in the sideboard for 2 more Raging Goblin, and 2 Warren Instigator.

liquemetal coating, convert anything to artifacts and destroy with shatter and dragon

I honestly hadn't thought about that, and I've got 3 sitting in another deck that I haven't posted yet, I want to test it in a few games first. But what to drop for the coating?
With 4 artifacts you wont get to use Galvanic with metalcraft. Voltaic Key will also rarely be of use since you have only 2 other artifacts. Similarly Hoard-Smelter Dragon is just a 5/5 flying. Maybe you could put more and also higher cost artifacts in. Otherwise I would replace it with this dragonmaster that levels up. With a couple of touches this will be a really cool deck.
I get what you are saying, but with all the burn option in this deck, I don't think it would hurt to hold onto Galvanic Blast until I've got 3+ Artifacts down. (Though, that being said, if I'm going to wait to play it, there are other options that can be put into the deck in it's stead) I also hadn't thought of the leveling dragonmaster (from Rise of Eldrazi, right?) Though the Hoard-Smelter Dragon is really only in there as a big, beefy 5/5 flyer with the ability to blow up enemy artifacts and get bigger for it. (Again, that being said, his ability is like a weaker version of Demolish, even has Demolish's cost, but rather than being either a artifact OR a land, its artifact only, and gain +X/+0 where X is the destroyed artifact's converted mana cost.)
Ah nevermind I read that dragon incorrectly, I somehow got it in my head you could only use your own artifacts.
Just saw this as I finished posting above. ^^^
Should have done this after posting the deck list, but. REPLACED LIST: -1x Obsidian Fireheart -1x Warren Instigator -1x Skitter of Lizards -1x Lord of Shatterskull Pass -4x Ruinous Minotaur -1x Mountain -1x Burst Lightning* -1x Fireball* -1x Flame Slash* Sideboard: -1x Voltaic Key -1x Manic Vandal -2x Iron Myr -4x Vulshok Replica With: +2x Everflowing Chalice +2x Voltaic Key +4x Galvanic Blast +4x Lightning Bolt +3x Liquimetal Coating* Sideboard: +4x Ruinous Minotaur +4x Fireball* * Everything marked (*) was changed after suggestions.
Perhaps you might consider Perilous Myrs instead of Voltaic Keys and/or Everflowing Chalices. They'll give you your metalcraft, folks hesitate to kill them lest they suffer the two damage, plus you can destroy them yourself with your Hoard Smelter if you need to. I'd also want 4 Liquimetals if you want to be as sure as possible of seeing it early in the game.
3 is all I have to run, Im working on getting more though, because I'd like to run a full set. Played this list tonight with a few friends, and it still needs tweaking. One friend suggested Quest for the Pure Flame, gains counters, then drop them and sac it so all my red spells double damage for that turn. I like running the chalices and the keys, only because it gives me a high mana bump. Turn 4 chalice gets 2 counters, then on turn five. can tap, use another mountain on the field to tap the key, untap the chalice and tap it again for 2 more (4 colorless floating) and then all my high cost spells are cut down to 1-2 red mana to cast. EDIT - to my previous post above. REPLACED: -3x Punishing Fire I like the idea of Perilous Myr, but I mostly use the Hoard-Smelter Dragon in combo with the earlier suggestion of Liquimetal Coating, to destroy my opponents cards, and buff my dragon, and/or destroy their existing artifacts. The combo with Liquimetal Coating and Shatter, H-S Dragon, and the Demolish in my sideboard make taking out anything my opponent comes up with pretty easy.
