Deck Description

Ever since i started magic ive always had a special afffection toward Izzet colours (Red and blue) and when i saw Niv-Mizzet i just fell in love. I've always wanted to make an edh deck around him, but none of my friends play, but as im going to college soon i decided to have one at the ready.

Tibalt might not be a great planeswalker, but he is absolutely phenomenal in this type of build. So much damage for 2 red mana!!!!

Im new to edh so any comments would be graciously appreciated.

Thanks! i hadnt included the Scepter cuz i thought its price would be through the roof but as it isnt i took out the sword for it. Thanks, it will make a great Fabricate target with a Flusterstorm in hand.

Tbh it isnt wholly mine, i based it off of an article online, but a morphed it a bunch to include cards i own/cards i thought should be in here.

Looks pretty good all round. Galvanoth might be useful, as you have a lot of instants/sorceries.

Bazaar trader works really nicely with dominus, but probably doesn't have enough synergy with your other cards to be included, unless more control cards are introduced (aladdin, act of treaon, act of aggression, blind with anger, etc). In fact, those sorts of cards work particularly well in commander, since gaining control of your opponets commander can screw their game completely.

Empress Galina I find is a must have in and commander deck containing blue.

Can't offer you much more advice than that, since I don't tend to play much red or blue, but hope it helps!

Galvanoth would be cool, but i would hardly ever cast the spell cuz i want to time everything

Im trying to avoid non-Modern cards (im a newer player, i have a weird prejudice against them) but the empress looks like a huge troll in commander :L

Bazaar trader would be cool, but im not building a deck around that, dominus is just there for stalling until i can get Niv out. I have tibalts huge final, but thats it

Your deck has a ton of draw power, that is what it is supposed to do after all, I highly recommend you grab an elixir of immortality. You don't want to deck yourself in the longer games.

If you are worried about getting overrun, I recommend a silent arbiter to slow combat down.

Is milling your opponent one of your win conditions? If so you might want to consider Forced Fruition, Jace's Archivist and Windfall.

Lastly artifact hate wouldn't hurt. Smash does it while giving you a card. Shatterstorm is older but it kills all artifacts. Shattering Spree is kind of a targeted Shatterstorm, but it is new bordered and a tad more pricy.

I have a similar red/blue black deck if you want some more ideas.
