Deck Description

Legal in Standard [SOM-M12-INS]

First attempt/draft of a Solar Flare deck. For those who don't know how Solar Flare decks work, my understanding is that:

* It uses cards which help you draw and discard cards, thus allowing you to cycle through your deck and populate your graveyard.
----- Forbidden Alchemy [Discards 3 cards each use]
----- Merfolk Looter [Draw then discard]
----- Liliana of the Veil [+1: Each player discards a card]

* Afterwards, you use cards to bring those cards you ditched into play.
----- Unburial Rites [return a creature from your graveyard into play, and this card can be used again and for cheaper CMC if its in the graveyard]
----- Sun Titan [when it comes into play and/or attacks, you can bring a permanent with CMC of 3 or less into play]
----- Snapcaster Mage [when it comes into play, you can use any instant or sorcery card in your graveyard as if it was in your hand (but only one)]

* Then with this engine in working order, you can either:
----- Aggroify! [Phantasmal Image is a 2CMC creature which you can bring into play with Sun Titan which can clon the Sun Titan and thus bring out MORE Phantasmal Images into play as Sun Titans; by turn four you may have four Sun Titans out!
----- Controlify! [There are enough counter spells, creature killers, permanent exilers and card drawers, as well as multiple means to use and resue them to keep your opponent at bay]

SO BASICALLY: The idea of Solar Flare is to use cards to bring big creatures out fast AND to use and reuse spells to prevent your opponent from doing anything. Or specifically/basically:
* Discard (or otherwise move) a ton of cards into your graveyard
* Use Unburial Rites, Sun Titan and Snapcaster Mage to use and reuse the cards you placed into your graveyard
* Use Phantasmal Image to clone the Sun Titan (or other creatures) two or three times and use them as your attackers.

And that's how a Solar Flare deck works! (At least based on how *I* understand it...)
