I found a few Paradise Mantle / Blistercoil Weird combo decks on MTG Vault and decided to add my own one.At the moment I am building this deck, I did not have time to test it.Please note that there are not that many options for 1CC draws out there (Legal in Modern).I tried to find the most uselful ones (e.g. Reach through mists does not help at all, also Peek is rather weak compared to others). This deck has some special cards which were recommended in the comments of other decks (see How to Play).I know that the fetch lands are expensive but they simply help getting the cards you want without having lands in between.
First thing to know, this deck revolves around having Blistercoil Weird, Paradise Mantle and one land minimum in the opening hand.Second turn you can then start playing 1CC spell after 1CC spell to pump up the Weird. For purpose of playing as much spells as possible Cerulean Wisps and Manamorphose are brilliant. They generate one extra mana since you can untap the weird before the spell resolves (wisps) or you get 2 mana of any colour and you can untap him (manamorphose). Thus you should always have one or two spare mana. Also make use of Simian Spirit Guide to get more mana.Edge of autumn is just one last option to get a new draw. You don't need the land you tapped in turn 2 anymore anyways. You never play Edge of autumn, you always cycle it. (Edit: Street Wraith might be better)There are basically three winning options:Attacking with the weird (Aphotic Wisps gives him fear, thus there shouldnt be a problem since black decks don't often get creatures round 1).Flinging the Weird to get tons of damage (League reference ok).Ending your spell streak with Grapeshot.
