I'll probably proxy him in for a while. He could be useful utility i think. Plus the mana ramp would really be good to put out jace sooner. I think its a great idea in theory, ill have to see if it works. What do you think about sideboard?
Im actually thinking that i should swap out tome scour for the Aqueous Form. That way any of the 12 creatues in the deck could be cyphered in for the PD and WM. They could be much more powerful than the cheap mill.
I made the updates to the deck, does that look about right? Lots of changes discussed here. I think i've gotten it pretty solid now.
Sadly, this deck went from affordable to obnoxious. Another 60 bucks just for 2 card additions, jeesh.
Well heck man. You are very good at this. You are right in that Mind Grind makes the same impact no matter what i've done befrore where as traumatize has diminshing returns. Plus i can mind grind for less if i want to at any time.
Oooh, thats awkward..I like it! I actually have one too. Especially if i run those Mind Grinds, i can just choose 2 lands, and ensure there is always a land in the graveyard to mana bump....Perfect, those are going in instead of tutor. Hes just super utility. I dig it. :)
I think you're right in the long run, but I liked tome scour because of the efficiency as well as having something to do turn one.
I was having some issues editing my previous post sorry about that. Mind Funeral isn't standard so i cant use it. Mind grind IS but for it to do the same thing as Mind Funeral, it would cost more than Traumatize...so it sort of lacks the efficiency that I'd want. Abberration is an option i looked at, but it would be another couple of turns to win with him, wheras a traumatize+jace at turn 6 is a win.
You do make a good point. I like the mind funeral instead of traumatize. For 3 mana, it really could potentially put away a close amount of cards. I looked at consuming aberration and while its extremely powerful for this deck, i didnt see it as a playable card. I dont see games with this deck going the distance. Its gonna be an early KO with this one one way or another :) EDIT: Mind Funeral isnt Standard :(

You are absolutely right, phantom warrior is better than rogues. I do like the alternative mana cost though if i dont have necessary blue mana out for phantom, but i dont like that mutavault can block rogues. I'll have to play test both and see if its a problem. The traumatize and Jace are the backone of the deck, they are required for the deck to win turn 5 or 6. So they have to stay in. Mostly i need to figure out how to replace the Diabolic Tutors . Cyclonic Rift has come up a few times...ill have to test that too. I tried mixing in Green Ramp in via Sylvan Caryatid to get the combo on turn 5. I havent been able to test it yet but i just threw in 6 dual lands for blue/green and black/green. It offers a decent cheap hexproof chump block and ramp for 2 mana.
The Deathcult Rogues were so I can cypher the Paranoid Delusions and whispering madness for forced mill effects every turn. If i took the specter they could easily block the specter and it would be useless for that purpose. I worry that Cyclonic rift costs too much to overload. I should have won or be dead by the time I have 8 mana.
