Deck Description

Felt like doing something based on walls. Considering I wanted a not-to-expensive deck, and one that gave me various ways of defeating an enemy (milling and direct damage in this case), I think it turned out okay.

Hanweir Watchkeep is really just there because I think it's fun. A card like Carven Caryatid would be better (though Hanweir puts the colors in better balance with each other), but transformed Hanweir might actually do some damage, and if it dies it should come back into the library anyway.

How to Play

Hopefully the deck should be pretty fast. Start with putting some defenders on the table, and when you have enough mana go for a Genesis Wave which should really speed the deck up. Though based on milling and doing direct damage, there are only a few cards in the deck that actually do those things (3 milling cards and 3 cards capable of direct damage, not counting Vent Sentinel and Basilica Guard). But due to Genesis Wave the creatures will be filterd out of the library and Elixir of Immortality keep the those cards returning, and doing so fast.

Deck discussion for Mill Blast Defenders

Any chance of Crab Umbra combo to go infinite with Sands or Comet Storm?

Evolving Wilds... I understand why you would use it but I've never seen it played in a quick deck. It just seems to slow down the deck overall. Take out those four cards and put in Jungle Shrine or one of the other triple color lands. I like the deck overall but there are a couple cards you could switch out. Gatecreeper Vine or Dragon Egg would be good. Gatecreeper would make cutting Evolving Wilds worth it, and Dragon Egg summons out a 2/2 red dragon with flying when it dies to give you some fire power if you need it.

You could also look at Hanweir Watchkeep, that transforms from a 1/5 defender to a 5/5 striker and back again. There is also Jungle Patrol, Mindbender Spores, Order of the Stars, Pride Guardian, and Roc Egg. All good cards to look at in a deck like this.
