GENERAL: Oona, Queen of the Fae
ALTERNATE GENERAL: Mirko Vosk, The Mind Drinker
STYLE: Johnny/Spike
Budget EDH deck with premium pain built in. Features Oona, Queen of the Fae. Lots of exile and mill, and full-on combat damage to boot. Oona isn't necessary to win, but very useful to do so. Look for a number of different infinite loops - mana, token, damage - loops which offer several different win-cons.
The object is to mill your opponent(s) out, or better yet, exile as much of his library as possible as soon as possible. Exile in EDH? You know your opponents are gonna HATE you. To salt the wound, there are several ways to force your opponent(s) to sacrifice creates. A LOT of creatures!
You are warned: if you play this, you will be rightly vilified. Wait... did that sound like a _bad_ thing? ;c)
Generate as much blue/black mana as possible, with as much colorless as secondary choices as possible.
NOTES:
When you cast Xenograft, declare Zombies.
When you cast Realmwright, declare Swamp for Magus of the Coffers or Island for Freed from the Real.
Ashnod's Altar is one of the key pieces in this deck. It isn't 100% necessary, but it is designed to be a primary piece.
INFINITE MANA LOOPS:
Myr Galvanizer + something that clones it + 2 Myr mana generators.
Myr Galvanizer enchanted by Freed from the Real + 3 Myr mana generators, one of which creates blue.
Grand Architect + Pili-Pala.
Play Oona as soon as you can, and protect her if possible using equipment, hopefully with Ashnod's Altar out. Using a blue or black mana, and your available colorless mana, activate Oona's ability choosing the wisest color for your target opponent. Once you put however many blue/black flying faerie tokens out on the battlefield, feel free to use other abilities of cards on the battlefield, like tapping each one for two colorless mana using Grand Architect before sacking each to Ashnod's Altar for another two colorless each. Then use another single blue or black, and activate Oona's ability again.
Rinse and Repeat until you have run out of blue/black mana, keeping your last batch of Faeries untapped. On your next turn, if they are still there, attack with all of them, sacrificing each one that is blocked by something bigger to Ashnod's Altar and activate Oona's abilities using the residual mana before combat damage is dealt. During your second main phase, sac the remaining tokens for mana and start the Oona exile engine again, finishing again the same way with untapped faeries when your colored mana runs dry.
There are other ways to win, such as making Oona unblockable and flying for General combat damage, milling out the other decks, pinging them to death for each creature going to the graveyard, and so forth.
ADDENDUM #1: This is a good deck to illustrate why Painter's Servant is banned.
ADDENDUM #2: This deck REALLY needs a Grave Pact. When I get one I'll swap it in, exchanging it for Maze Abomination.
ADDENDUM #3: Removed Mirko Vosk, and set aside only as alternate Commander, and replaced him with Heartless Summoning. Swapped Copper Myr (illegal anyway) for Myr Retriever. Swapped in Grave Pact, replacing Maze Abomination. Somehow, I missed something and ended up missing a card. Dropped in Door of Destinies.
ADDENDUM #4: Removed Artisan of Forms and replaced with Riptide Shapeshifter. I'll look to add Palinchron next.
LAST ADDENDUM: This deck continues to evolve. Please look at the current list.
NEED: Illusionist's Bracers, Necrotic Ooze
