Deck discussion for Varolz Reanimater

Since this is Legacy and Vintage legal... I'm really surprised Golgari Grave Troll is not in here. Granted it's not exaclty a Dredge deck, but if you entomb a Grave Troll... you can mill deeper into your deck and really get things rolling faster.

but why would I waste an entomb or buried alive on him, just so I could use him and maybe get the cards I wanted in the graveyard in the first place? doesn't make much sense to me. I have grisly salvage for that, and that at least lets me take Varolz out if I draw him with it. This needs more of a set up than to be able to mindlessly dredge myself and hope for the best. If something goes in my graveyard that I don't want there, I have only unearth to bring it out. so I need to be more careful than that. thanks for the advice though, ive actually never seen that card.

Combined with Unearth, i think Golgari Grave Troll is a beast for the deck. Although with Verdant Catacombs in the deck, I'm surprised you aren't running Overgrown Tomb over Woodland Cemetery.

yea ive never been a big fan of paying life to play lands. I suppose it wouldn't be that hurtful, just don't like the concept. Plus il never need more than one mana of each color to play a card, so really I don't even need the woodland cemetery. And yea I guess the troll could work, im just nervous about putting spells in the graveyard that I cant get back out, and I don't know what I would swap for him.

Grave Troll could work. Maybe one or two at most.
I think adding Dark Ritual to drop Buried Alive or Entomb and Unearth on turn 1 would be even better!

I think its because I have diabolic intent, and I was trying to save the entombs and buried alive for the creatures I actually wanted in the graveyard. Unearth was just a nice corrector for mistakes or murdered creatures.
