Yes, and no. The biggest issue with Sowing Salt is the 4 mana to cast it. I know 1 extra mana doesnt sound like a big deal, but in a deck that runs 20 land and curves out at 2, 3 mana is doable. 4 is a hell of a stretch. Also, the shock effect attached to Molten Rain is relevant when playing with an aggro/burn deck. Last, taking 3 to the face from Bob on a Molten Rain sucks enough hahaha.

I tested it in Legacy for a while, and Vexing Devil is just so much more relevant.

As far as the sideboard goes, the Gaddock Teegs are for turning off anyone who is using bombs (Karn in Tron, for example). I've always liked Nevermore, because it just flat out beats combo. Ancient Grudge to help with Affinity, Boggle, or Pod. Mindbreak Trap just in case someone gets the idea to try Storm without all of its pieces. Molten Rain pummels Tron, and really helps against any deck that is land intensive. Choke against anything blue (doesn't effect us much with only 1 Steam Vents in the deck), and Mana Tithe because no one EVER sees it coming. I may switch something out for Torpor Orbs, but I'm not positive yet.

The manabase is the typical "20 lands" number for a zoo deck. I would have rather used a marsh flat or 2, but I don't own them anymore, and the fetches at that point are somewhat irrelevant as long as you have arid mesas and a few verdant catacombs. As far as which shocks to use, it made sense to have all of them other than the Dimir one (the only need for any blue is to turn on tribal flames. I understand that you only really need black for Bob and flames, but its easy enough to fetch out whatever other colors you need to at that point with the catacombs). Its basically a Naya deck, which is why the 3 basics are mountain, forest, and plains.

Also, I had to find a substitution for Nacatl, so Steppe Lynx was the best I could come up with.

Accorder Paladin is to fill the 2-drop slot, on the chance that your opening hand has only one mana dude, or no fetchlands for the lotus cobra. He also helps boost the birds to actually attack to a degree when Conviction is out. I know that last part sounds somewhat ridiculous, but I used the deck in the Besieged gameday, and it actually mattered once or twice. He more or less just rounds out the deck, and is a special added boost to anything with double strike.
