For as long as I've been playing Magic: The Gathering, I've held a bit of a reputation for lasting longer than I should have, all thanks to a few life gain cards. So one day, I got to thinking that not only could I embrace that reputation, I could make it one that inspired fear, even if I wasn't using Black cards.I discovered Felidar Sovereign entirely by chance, since one of my friends had an extra sitting in his binder for a couple years, but hand never really used it. And it's a purchase I'll never regret, because once I secured that card, I was ready to debut my first Vitality deck at the first local tournament I've ever won.
Most of the cards should only cost 2 mana, so unless you're a terrible shufflers, your early game is secure. Plenty of small creatures will provide you with a strong climb in your Life total, as well as some impromptu defenders on the battlefield. Spells that outright give you health, as well as a couple of artifacts that capitalize on your use of White magic, are your priority. Serra Ascendant and Chalice of Life, in particular, are especially rewarding if you can hit the 30-Life in only a few turns.
