Deck Description

Basic Idea
This deck is intended for first-time players. To make a beginner friendly deck I decide to keep the deck extra simple, so that the new player can focus on getting to know the rules, tactics and understanding what's going on.
Boros likes to overwhelm with numbers so I wanted to focus on many, but rather small, creatures, accompanied by some that benefit from a high number of creatures.

Cardpool and Budget]/u]
Mass-strengthening-effects (+x/+x to all creatures) and cards with multiple effects are not allowed. Lands are limited to Common's and Uncommon's, no Rare's or Mythic's. Other cards are limited to Common's, Uncommon's and 1 Rare (max. 4 copies) per deck, no Mythic's.
The overall budget should be between 15 to 20$. (Estimated mid value).

Upgradeability/ Room for improvements
This deck is bound to a general strategy, named "Aggro", in combination with a special keyword, named "Battalion", where you benefit from 2 or more creatures attacking together.
A deck that is built around a certain keyword, it will be hard to keep it up to date and to improve on. New editions will rarely contain cards with the keyword, but you can try to keep a look for cards that will improve the general strategy of the deck.

Tests
I have tested this deck against other beginner decks. The decks I tested against are a mixture of Control and Aggro and the result are recorded in a spreadsheet. If you're interested in details from the spreadsheet, feel free to ask.

How to Play

This deck is all about fast and aggressive play. Akroan Hoplite profits from sheer number while the creatures with Battalion simply need two other attacking creatures to enable their bonus. A high number of cheap creatures should ensure that you can enable this bonus whenever you need it.
Condemn, Shock and Stasis Snare help to keep the board clean while Mortal's Ardor can give you back some life in case things go wrong.

Deck discussion for W/R Beginner: Batallion

I really like that you are doing this. Makes it easy to teach new victi... *ahem* players. I do have one suggestion though, swap out Terramorphic Expanse for Evolving Wilds to keep familiarity once they leave to join the big(er) leagues. Evolving Wilds has become a sort of staple reprint in Standard.

Thank you for the suggestion.
I'm doing this as I hope to get new players in the future. Then I can simply put the desired colour combination in their hand and get them to play and don't have to think first what I want to built for them ;)

Boros Elite would be a good common to teach them the Battalion effect.

Thank you for the suggestion.
I replaced 4 Expedition Envoy with the Elite. Tough I wouldn't use more battalion (or similar effects) creatures to keep the deck simple.

Very cool. I put together a similar deck series. :) though mine are mono colored. Love the idea of having a deck that is simpler enough that anyone can pick it up and play with it with minimal instruction on how to actually play the game.
