[u]Basic Idea[/u]The multi-coloured that came with Strixhaven are really interesting (beside that they are the first multi-colour sine a long time), and [[Spiteful Squad]] caught my attention. [u]Tests[/u]I have tested this deck against other pauper decks. The decks I tested against are a mixture of Control and Aggro and the result are recorded in a spreadsheet. If you're interested in details from the spreadsheet, feel free to ask. I'm open to all suggestions and ideas that may help to improve this deck.
[[Star Pupil]] and [[Spiteful Squad]] ensure that your precious +1/+1 counters don't get lost, when the creature dies (exile doesn't count as dying, so when they're hit by e.g. [[Oblivion Ring]] the counters are lost anyway.) [[Skyhunter Skirmisher]] is a good target to put all those counters on, as he has double strike and evasion, in the form of flying, which is a good combination. The rest of the deck either helps those 3 creatures or tries to keep you alive, while making a good target for [[Martyr for the Cause]].

Neat idea. I find cards like charmed stray to generally be a waste though as they rarely do "the thing" before they die off etc. Unless you really need the lifelink (which i could see being useful still here but if thats the case- there's probably better lifelink cards). Maybe some draw or disruption like duress might be a more powerful thing to replace it with? or maybe unearth to get more martyr triggers? If you need a one drop though carrion feeder might be an idea also- as it can kill off ur martyr for the trigger and it'll basically get double the counters.

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, I'm also a little...unhappy...with the performance of Charmed Stray. In theory it sounds fine, but you need a lot of carddraw, tutors or bounce effects to make them work properly. That's my problem, when building decks: tunnel vision. Read something about "+1/+1 counter" and forget about your experience with the card and simply throw it in. ;)I did replace it with Shoulder to Shoulder. Sparring Construct would have been another option, if I wanted to keep a creature.
gotcha! Its definitely one of those things you have to play with first. And hope the replacements are working better!
Did some test and further changes to the deck. I wasn't quite happy with [[Basri's Acolyte]] and replaced them with a single Silverflame Ritual and two Eternal Thirst. Eternal Thirst works like a charm with Skyhunter Skirmisher and Silverflame Ritual can boost all your creatures and provide them with vigilance if I'm able to activate adamant (Which should be doable most of the time)I also reduced Feat of Resistance form 4 to 2 and added 2 Gods Willing instead. Feat of Resistance is a good card, but I have either to few or to much mana and thus Gods Willing is a good option when I just need protection, and not the +1/+1 counter. Speaking of mana, as the deck is more white than black, I removed 4 Forsaken Sanctuary and added Evolving Wilds instead. I'm also thinking about removing Cave of Temptation for basic lands, or perhaps Idyllic Grange. Again, most of the time I couldn't activate the land (or I forgot about it) and if I could have done, the deck was winning anyway and it would have been overkill. Last thing I'm thinking about is changing 2 Read the Bones into 2 Village Rites as it allows me to sacrifice Martyr for the Cause to gain or Star Pupil to transfer counters. The deck now also has a sideboard it can use ;)
glad to hear its working! I wouldn't get idyllic grange unless u swap out the caves for basics- but if you do that that might be better and faster than caves- and itll give you a color mana- so maybe that is the swap to do.
Finally was able to run some more test against my benchmark decks (MBC, stompy, mill and life gain/ drain), where the deck simply behaved to slow. It lacks power, and the only good thing is that you keep some of this power when Spiteful Squad or Star Pupil get killed...but not if they are the last of your creatures.
