Basic Idea: Even tough I don't like it [[Pestilence]] is a very strong card. As nearly all top pauper decks at the moment are creature based it is a card to be aware of. There are some ways to include Pestilence into a deck, this is one of it and under the following link you can find another version which is less control-ish and more ETB and creature based. (https://www.mtgvault.com/muktol/decks/wb-pauper-monarch-pestilence/)
The core of the deck is [[Pestilence]] and [[Guardian of the Guildpact]] that will allow you to control and finish the game. The deck uses a lot removal and discard to control the game while your opponents removal will be nearly useless. Against midrange and aggro you will be able to play a classic control strategy while against control will need to transfer some sideboard cards after the first game to stand a chance.

NOTE: Set by owner when deck was made.
Are effects like Doomed Traveler and Doomed Dissenter not worth it in this type of build? I would think that etb creatures or creatures that die and do things would be good for a deck trying to out-grind your opponent.

They die to fast due to your own Pestilence. A Doomed Traveler and his token are gone after just 2 activations while Doomed Dissenter survives 3. Also you give your opponent a target for his removal, which is exactly what this built tries to evade. There is another version of Pestilence, called Monarch Pestilence, that uses more creatures, tough mostly such ones that provide your with draw, or life, or let you return those creatures to your hand and re-use those.
