Deck Description

Basic Idea:
The basic idea for this deck came when seeing crisaale's Crab mill deck. Hedron Crab is a creature that's based on landfall so why not combine blue with green to make the most out of it?

Building it:
So 4 Hedron Crab and 3 Mirrorweave where set from the beginning. To Make best use of him I added 22 basic lands which would be replaced with duals later on. Next came 4 Harrow and 4 Khalni Heart Expedition for ramp as well as 3 Fraying Sanity to halve the number of cards I would have to mill and 3 Ghostly Flicker. On the creature side I added 4 Augur of Bolas to be able to search for sorcerys I need and 4 Hornet Nest for token production.
The 4 additional Hedron crabs are a replacement for Ruin Crab, available with Zendikar Rising.

Price without special lands: 52$ (Mid value)

Tests:
At the moment this deck exists only on this site and has never been played against another deck. Regardless I'm open to all suggestions and ideas that may help to further improve this deck.

How to Play

The basic idea is to (ab)use Hedron Crab and Mirrorweave: All creatures on the field will be Hedron Crab's until end of turn which will increase the number of cards you mill with a single landfall:
1 Crab -> 1 Landfall -> 3 card
10 Crab's -> 2 Landfall -> 60 cards
5 Crab's -> 4 Landfall -> 60 cards

So all you need are 5 copies of Hedron Crab and 4 Landfalls to basically kill your opponent. How is this done? Any 5 creatures, one of them has to be a Crab, in combination with a Mirrorweave will give you the desired 5 Crabs while Khalni Heart Expedition, searchlands and/ or Harrow should give the desired number of landfalls. Ghostly Flicker is especially effective when targeting a searchland like Evolving Wilds as you get 4 landdrops for only 3 mana!

Deck discussion for U/G: Crab Mill

Id run eternal witness to get back dead crabs or ramp spells.

This deck gets way better if you run ether the panoramas and terramorphic expanse/evolving wilds, though if you can spare the cash the fetch lands are an equal upgrade in power again.

Ok budget version, really could use witness though.

Mimic Vat came to my mind to get creatures back from the graveyard, but only as a sideboard option.

I was thinking about running 8+ panoramas as they can be used to get colourless mana and thus aren't completely useless on the battlefield until you make your move. The only thing that refrained me from doing this was the {1} mana you have to pay to use them to trigger landfall. Mirrorweave costs 4 mana, if you need to cast Harrow your at 7 mana so paying 1-2 panoramas might be out of reach, especially if you want to cast this as early as possible.

Dreadwaters is worth considering. Works with the land ramp side of the deck. But I guess the same could be true for Increasing Confusion, [[Blue Sun's Zenith]], and/or Fascination.

What would you remove to add e.g. 2-4 Increasing Confusion?

Flayer Husk doesn't add to the overall gameplan.

I use it as cheap creature. I was looking a creature like Goblin Instigator or a spell like Gather the Townsfolk but couldn't find anything in blue that would give me 2 creatures with 1 spell without having to attack. Fists of Ironwood or Saproling Migration would have been an option but in the end I did choose the Flayer because if it would die I at least could use the equipment to bolster a Crab a little bit.

The idea of having a token army to protect you is good, but the real threat from aggro will always be the more evasive decks.
You will need some flying defence to deal with some of the decks that have flying as their evasive part. Against merfolk you only have flickering.

Will be back later

Sakura-tribe elder will be able to exploit mirrorveawe

In two ways. You will be able to make all creatures into tribe elders which means you can fetch many lands, or the tribe elders can become crabs.

I think cobra trap could outperform sparkling migration.
Fungal rebirth has synergy with sakura-tribe elder.

Chronozoa might also be good with mirrorweave if you can somehow sac your animals.
Mirrorweave may also backfire if the opponent has many creatures and a fetchland.
Phyrexian metamorph may also be a means to get either an extra crab or sakura-tribe elder.
Scapeshift/valakut has been done with crabs before.

That's what I got so far.

Another new card from zendikar rising. Scute swarm costs 2G 1/1.
landfall creates an insect. It's able to generate copies of itself when you have 6 lands, doubling in numbers for each land afterwards.

I also thought about infect and mirrorweave. Perhaps the infect creature that destroys artifacts, making it cover two functions.
Creatures able to sac themselves for an effect would also be nice to weave.

I was toying around with the idea of 3-4 Undergrowth Champion instead of Augur of Bolas.

I'm not really convinced from Sakura-Tribe Elder. When you Mirrorweave all creatures into Elders and sac some of them you have enough lands, but nothing that benefits from the land-drops.

I had Scapeshift in the deck before I started fiddling around with it a little bit, but 8 spare mana are hard to achieve if you want to keep your ramp to activate the crabs.

As for the chance of a backfire, this might happen in the second game, normally you play and fetch in an instant, because you need colour-fixing or want to thin out your lands. But even if he spares 1-2 fetchlands Khalni Heart Expedition and/ or Ghostly Flicker still should bring more landdrops than he might be able to produce.

For now I will do the following:
-2 Crabs
-1 Hornet Nest
-3 Saproling Migration
+3 Undergrowth Champion
+3 Cobra Trap

Sakura-tribe elder does feeds khalni heart expedition, and with the mana you get from sacking a few tokens you will be able to cast a second mirror weave the very same turn after casting a single crab. All is the crabs Then you break all khalni. Otherwise you wait until the opponent upkeep to break khalni.

I wouldn't cut crabs.

I'd play 8 fetchlands and basics for the rest. 4 ug 2 u+ random 2 g+ random.

You also need a gameplan against gravedecks.

For testdecks try out merfolk and infect.

The mirror weave strategy of turning everything into sakura tribe elder could work if you hold back one crab in hand to play before sacking it all.
