My girlfriend wanted to know what burn decks where capable of, and this is what I came up with. Since that time everyone avoids playing against it, I don't know why... ;)"Vexing Devil" is a card I'm not so sure about any more. Sure if it deals 4 damage it's fine, but if your opponent has a way to handle it (removal) it's a wasted card, which is never good for burn. "Collateral Damage" could be a good alternative, especially if you run some expendable creatures like Ball Lightning/ Spark Elemental/ Hellspark Elemental. I have played this deck some times using proxis but as my opponents tend to loose the fun on it I ultimately dismantled it. Regardless I'm open to all suggestions and ideas that may help to further improve this deck.
A little bit of experience is needed to judge if a creature an opponent plays poses a thread and thus should be removed. Safe that, this is a straight forward deck: Use your spells to burn your opponent away as fast as possible. "Browbeat" and "Dangerous Wager" give you some card draw so that you won't run out of fuel too fast. "Keldon Marauders" deal beween 2 to 5 damage for cc2, depending on your opponents defense, before they vanish. "Magma Jet" allows you to manipulate your carddraw a little bit so that the danger of drawing a land when you don't need it is minimized. "Hellspark Elemental" deals 3 possible damage, depending on your opponents defense but has the advantage of reusability, a very important point if you don't have crad-draw at hand and are empty handed. The sideboard gives options against control, livegain and token-heavy decks.

Thanks for the idea. It looks nice, but i think this belongs more in a U/R deck :)The problem is, that you would need good tutors, to get the parts of the combo into your hand. And to rely to have the 3 cards on your hand in a 60 card deck is no really good choice in my opinion.
I mean, to use it u have to modify some cards, u'll not have the same deck
Hey there MUKTOL, I'm trying to build an elemental burndeck in modern. Consider cavern of souls and vexing shusher to protect your elementals. In modern there are three major hinderings against burn: (Notice that I play 22 lands to support my 3cc's) 1 counterspells, against which I use, cavern of souls, vexing shusher, sudden shock, sulfur elemental and volcanic fallout. In sb I consider combust against U/W angel-decks. Also I run hellspark elemental and hell's thunder. 2 pro red critters, where sulfur elemental is a nice solution. 3 they board in leyline of sanctity, and I use volcanic fallout, slagstorm, flamebreak, and other non-targeting spells. Overall the last thing a deck like this needs, is something to take care of enchantments against creatures, which might be solved by more burn and less critters or some enchanmentremoval of some sort!
I do not play Modern..but deck looks brutal! No chain lightning or fireblast, but then again, this is modern.Another deadly deck.Good job!
