Another take on my Junk stax deck found herehttp://www.mtgvault.com/mugenkira/decks/junk-stax/I noticed that when I was using things like smokestack I was too reliant on either flagstones, sorin, or crucible and nearly folded to Jund with abrupt decay and deathrite shaman. It was insane! So my new take on it has more things that can help me out getting what I got back into my libraru with the rediculous Jotun Grunt as well as better mana fixing with city of brass.Another change is terravore who will basically end games faster where they couldnt before. The first thing I noticed in playtesting this verus my old stax was that Jotun Grunt is hilarious. When I sideboarded him in along with karmic justice it was literally rediculous. First off Karmic Justice shuts down wasteland and removal on such a level as to be funny. Second off the grunts destroy grave strategies as well as being a 4/4 beatstick for 2 mana! The enlightened tutor made it all worthwhile too.Off to more testing.
So far this has played as an interactive stax deck with hand and board control. And that feels good.Playtested this against my old junk stax deckI already noticed this has not only no mana base problems whatsoever that I could see but it had much more interaction than I anticipated. Can't wait to see how it performs in a gauntlet. The decks I'm testing this against are the top 8 from gp strausburgh as well as imperial painter and a few other decks.Testing Recordagainst...UW miracles, 2-0Team America, 2-0Sneak+Show, 2-1 (this one was hilarious, terravore and assemble the legion out at the same time after an armageddon.)Punishing Maverick, 3-4 (this matchup is zany as all hell, one moment I have an 11/11 terravore and assemble, the next I'm hit for 7+ every turn from punishing fire.)

pretty interesting take on stax. i wouldn't bother with those pain lands though, just play gemstone mine. you have crucible to replay your lands so sacking them shouldn't be a problem.
