I doubt there is any deck that can field this many fliers for as little mana...save maybe some bird tribal deck. The Psychic Venom cards don't really fit the theme, but they are excellent ways of slowing enemies (if they chose to use the land and take damage...they better have plenty of flier blockers). The Unstable Mutations & Cunning are excellent ways to give a few drakes a huge punch...possibly even ending the game earlier than anticipated. But it's Gravitational Shift and Favorable Winds that are vital to success, as they make ALL your creatures devastating. Creature for creature, dragons may be better than drakes...but drakes are easier to field.I have many more drakes in my collection, but threw out those that could only block fliers or other annoying side effects. I also made an effort to keep the numbers low per creature (2x on most, instead of 4x), the only ones in the deck with 3 or 4 counts are those with high strength/cost ratios (Sea Drake), ones who have nice bonus effects (Darkslick Drake, same cost as Fighting Drake but has a free draw when it dies) or are low cost to begin with (Spiketail Hatchling).
Unless Spindrift Drake starts in your opening hand, you won't have a play first round. Your initial hand should contain two or three 2 cost spells, either Psychic Venom, Spiketail Hatchling or Favorable Winds...all three would be ideal. Slowing your opponent with Venom, using the Hatchling to deal damage or sacrificing it to stop a bigger threat from being cast, and every Favorable Wind you can get onto the field will make every creature you cast that much better. FOUR is the magic number...at 4 mana, you can cast nearly every spell in this deck.

You get into illogical things, like why not turning one of your azure fighting drakes into a fourth darkslick drake. And why get sh*tty cards like skywinder and skyruin and not using more vigilant and wormfang drakes.

Good points. Skywinder shouldn't have been there, I thought I got rid of all the flying-only blockers. Sky Ruin is a good blocker though.
I only own 1 Wormfang. Vigilant's are fine, but they are high cost and require 3 mana to use their ability, 2 should suffice.
i messed up i meant spindrift instead of vigilant, srry
I'd definitely have 4 spindrifts in the deck if I had them, but I only own 2.
