Burn baby burn. First off, since I have (and play) very few red decks, when I DO put one together, I really do have a HUGE volume of choice spells available to me. Red is nice, three very diverse elements to focus on...fire (this deck), lightning (got a bunch for that one), earth (making the most of mountains)...and I could also throw in volcanic/lava/earthquake as a kind of red-natural disaster element. For this deck, I did my best to limit myself to JUST fire/flame/burn type effects...I ended up with a very-very large deck and pitched a bunch of cards that fit in nicely but I felt were too volcanic and not enough fire. I also had both Power Surge and Manabarbs in the deck (punishing my opponent for both not using and using land) as well as Ankh of Mihra (more free direct damage). And I could have gone hog-wild just loading up on direct damage (Fireball and Blaze) but I didn't want the deck to be that one-dimensional. The deck above I feel reflects the diverse ways red has to burn creatures and players...and it doesn't even have a dragon!MOST of the cards in the sideboard are either ones that focus on blue/white specifically...or ones that are more potent when used in multi-player games.

I liked this deck purely for the pyro aspect. I don't see how it would work well.

I'm playtesting a more reasonable 60+ card variant tonight. Trimmed a bunch of fat, left me with a nice scorched steak...as it were.
