A very rare deck for me...one that's only 60 cards. I did that with intention. I was looking at my Cruel Bitch deck, and decided to divide it into its different components...Avatar of Woe...Discard Madness...Liliana Vess...and this beauty: Phage the Untouchable. I wanted a deck with ONE sole purpose: get Phage into play and use her to make my opponent lose. The deck uses some useful skeletons to set things up...they all regenerate...and the Reassembling Skeletons are the perfect sacrifice for Kjeldoran Dead since they come back. Beautiful. The rest of the cards either generate mana, allow me to dig out Phage (via Diabolic Tutor), or remove threats. Once Swiftfoot Boots and Whispersilk Cloak are in play...pump up the mana, cast Phage, attach the equipment...attack...game over. No matter how much life my opponent has, if he can't target Phage, block Phage or interfere with my casting (via counterspell or forced sacrifice) it's lights out. Now, if things don't quite get aligned that perfectly, there's still Skeletal Wurm, Twisted Abomination (if not cycled), and Phage herself that can devastate any non-flying creatures; and Gauntlet of Power makes all smaller creatures deadly as well...4/2 Kjeldoran Dead are pretty scary. The biggest scare is if Phyrexian Arena is in play and I can't get past my opponents defenses. My life will wittle away turn after turn if I don't bring the end to my opponent fast. I thought about including life gaining spells, but thought it was excessive and just added more expensive cards to a deck that really just wants to end the game fast. Fast mana is key. 4 Dark Rituals, 4 Twisted Abominations (included mostly to cycle for swamps), 2 Overeager Apprentices are throwaway creatures if needed, the real boon is Bog Witch, which just by tapping, turns any one card in my hand into a Dark Ritual spell. Mana should be easy to get in this deck, even without artifact mana sources.
