Fliers' Bane. I wanted to make a deck that focused on creatures with reach, with vigilance, first strike, and ideally death touch, it makes for a particularly good creature horde. Vigilance allows it to attack select opponents (in multiplayer) while still being capable of putting up a defense on other players turns. First strike & death touch make for a very effective combo at removing threat creatures. Reach eliminates flying threats (to a degree). Put all the parts together and it should be quite effective. I have plenty of spiders in my collection to chose from, and pared them down to a nice mix of efficient low-cost spiders and game-ender high-cost spiders. The real trick was the support spells. Knighthood and Serra's Blessing are excellent ways to give my spiders first strike & vigilance, though they are white, which forced me to blend white into the mostly green deck. Though I am capable of generating some black spiders, they come from effects, not spells, though at one point this was a 3-4 color deck, before I realized black and red spiders didn't offer enough.I don't have any enchantment that gives all my creatures death touch...there are plenty of ways to give individual creatures the ability, but that just gunks up my deck. Since a fair number of spiders in the deck already have the ability, I figured that would be good enough.
