I've been using different variations of The Bruiser since I begin playing MTG way back in 1995. All with the same goal more or less, to kill your library and prevent you from doing anything. Anyhow its a fun little deck for causal play an its a blast when it gets rolling. Anyhow, lately I've felt that it was missing something. I'm not quite sure what but it feels incomplete. An its been struggling against some of the more modern decks. Any suggestions are welcome!
As with any discard/counter-spell deck I try to keep my opponent from doing much right from the start by countering anything they may attempt to drop. If I can get one of my Isochron Scepter's out I throw either a counterspell or a Diabolic Edict/Go for the Throat for creature heavy decks. I try to get my creatures out asap but trying to leave some mana for my instants. A great combo is using Paranoid Delusions then tossing it on a Inkfathom Infiltrator to eat away at their library. The topper is the Mindcrank, Bloodchief Ascension infinite combo with Memory Erosion as a backup plan.
