Academy Researchers go great with this.

Hm, why do use the Godless Shrine instead of a fourth Sacred Foundry? I don't get it.
Gelectrode could fit in better than Lobber Crew. LC is a better blocker but with Gelectrode you're gonna be able to shoot more damage overall since you can untap it more often.
Also, is there a way to search for several tags at once? It seems you can only put one tag into the search engine.
Hey Koonamy, Swan Song is awesome! Thanks for the suggestion! As for Dovescape and Hunted Horror: Dovescape will stay a potential sideboard card for now as I don't see how I could fit it in the mainboard. Hunted Horror... well, it's complicated. I think the card's great but there are a few things that keep me from mainboarding it yet. For one it costs double black which puts too much strain on the manabase. Secondly and more importantly, the tokens my opponent would get are too few and too strong. I want to give them lots of 1/1s or maybe 2/2s since I can manage to kill them more easily with my enchantments. On another hand Hunted Horror is fuckin strong! I'd love to find a place for it here but for now I think that it doesn't support the theme well enough. It does make for a great sideboard card that could make this deck more aggro if needed.Feel free to try your hand at a version of this deck that features Hunted Horror and link me to it. I'd love to see what you make of it!Cheers!
I feel you missed an opportunity for anti-wall cards here.Check out:-Dwarven Demolition team-Blaster Mage (human)-Battering RamTear down those walls! :)
I found it being an instant more useful than Radiant Flames' potential 3 damage for now. Also, works better with Goblin Dark-Dwellers as Radiant Flames would do no damage in that case (same with Painful Truths).I added a World Breaker to the Sideboard to get the trigger of Kozilek should need be.
This doesn't look very reliable with its mana base. I recommend taking out Sylvan Scrying and the 2 Swell of Growth and putting in three more lands (overall 4 Evolving Wilds would be good or 4 Timber Gorge).Root Out is more of a sideboard card or do your regular opponents use lots of artifacts or enchantments? Also, I'd probably replace Senseless Rage with Call of the Full Moon or Howlpack Resurgence as I find them stronger and they fit the theme better.
Thanks! Overall this deck was lots of fun today and I'll surely keep it/improve on it, see above for my summary. :)
@AwesomenoseI actually decided to splash Green for Quest for Renewal, that one seems perfect.
Shakespeare is the bomb. Nice idea!
Hey, Maniac. Just wanted to let you know that I played the deck quite a few times now in the new constellation with Ash Zealot, Apocalypse Hydra, Markov Blademaster and Armed//Dangerous and I gotta say, it's a lot of fun! Ash Zealot was a great addition and Apocalypse Hydra's flexibility does pay off as well. I also love how Ronin Cliffrider and the Bow always either make an opponent sweat or get them completely by surprise.^^Also, I swapped out Ashmouth Hound with Kessig Forgemaster, since that one's even better at the same thing! This deck came a long way since Kolaghan Aspirant was in it. xD
Browbeat and Breaking Point are also "nice" choice cards. :)
Alternatively you could use huge single target buffs that profit off your masses of tokens.Cards like Might of the Masses and Chorus of Might.Cheaper and instant but more susceptible to single-spot removal.
Ah okay, good to know, in that case pick one depending on your meta. If there's lots of cards around that damage/-1 your Saprolings then run 2 Obelisk of Urd. If not I'd say Overrun is the stronger card as it simply makes your whole board a threat and ends the match most of the time.
Hahaha! This is great.
Nice, like Saproling decks. Those tiny little buggers can be pretty nasty. How about Obelisk of Urd or Overrun to make them even nastier?Obelisk is awesome, since you got lots of stuff to use the Convoke mechanic and can use it for Fungus instead of Saproling if need be. Also good if you play against Red mass-damage or Black mass--1/-1 decks. And Overrun is just a great finisher! Everything +3/+3 and Trample, here we gooo!I'd probably take out Sprout Swarm (maybe even Scatter the Seeds) for these because you already get a ton of Saproling tokens through your creatures. I would keep one Sprout Swarm though as it makes a nice mana sink after all.
I think I'm gonna replace Flamewake Phoenix with either Markov Blademaster (probably) or Scab-Clan Berserker (maybe), we'll see.Quietus Spike: Mhhh, I dunno, seems a bit slow to me. But it's a greaet card, for sure, will have to evaluate it a bit further.Birds of Paradise: For now I'm gonna stay with the Mystic since most of the time I start playing on turn 2. Also, I'd like the option of dealing damage if need be. But I#ll keep the birdies in mind as well. Could make this devilish fast after all. It's a bit on the mana-intensive side but I found another card that already fits perfectly effect-wise: Armed/Dangerous. I guess, it would replace Temur Battlerage - especially with half of the Ferocious enablers gone - but it's not an instant and that's a real shame. :/
Thanks for your input! I do wonder though if I sacrifice too much power to gain some utility. Especially when I also switch out the Herde. It's true that Polukranos only shoots once but more often than not I use him as a board-wiping sacrifice or just plain damage. In those aspect Apocalypse is worse because it's more expensive (for the same CMC I just get a 2/2 instead of a 5/5). But the utility is nice, especially with Shaman of the Great Hunt and Bow to get counters. Next problem that arises is a less frequent Ferocious on Temur Battlerage and Shaman, ARGHHHHH- Probably best to just test it out in a few matches.^^What would you swap out for Moonglove? I find the Bow mostly sufficient even though it's not 100% reliable. And my other spells are pretty much core.I found a pretty nice replacement for Crater's Claws though! Since I'm not too worried about counterspells and probably need to dial back Ferocious at least a little, I'm gonna use Clan Defiance instead of Claws. Very versatile card for just one more mana!
On another note: I recently found Apocalypse Hydra. Do you think it would make a good replacement for Polukranos? For the same mana cost it's less powerful but it CAN be bigger and the ability is a bit more flexible to dish out deathtouch damage. It lowers green devotion but raises red by one. Also, it's not a legendary, so one less dead card in case I draw both copies. Any thought on that?
