I just finished working on my most recent deck, and decided to go back and try and remake my old W/U level up deck. This is how I have the deck currently, and it is really bad. Still, I have always wanted to make it good, and now I have the time. Asking all of you guys for help.EDIT: This is how the new deck looks, still looking for feedback though.
Ideally, in your opening hand you have:3-4 Lands1-2 Low Drop Levelers1 Proliferate Source (Inexorable, Clasp)1 Other SpellTurn 1, drop a land play a dude. Turn 2, Drop land then either level or play other dude. Rinse and repeat.

Ok, not saying I'm good at fixing mana ratios, but I tried some sample draws and saw a glaring problem. I had more hands with 1 mana or 4+ mana in a deck with less then half of the cards costing more then 3 mana. Not to mention that when I had those numbers it was the wrong color of mana more often then not. Some 'shock' lands might be in order to fix this. Next I fully understand the concept of using the Porcelain Legionnaire, but he's not really doing you any favors especially if you add 'shock' lands. I think a better option might be a second Skywatcher Adept, 1 blue for a guy that will be a flyer in no time at all sounds awesome to me. Now I am a stern believer in non-land mana, but i have to say when it comes to the borderposts I've come to hate each and every one of them. My friend djsith ran them in his Nicol and Dyme and it screw the curve up so bad it wasn't even funny. The best thing about the shock lands is that you end up gaining room for more power cards by dropping a few basics. Let me know if any of this helps.

Yeah, I know the mana problems are huge. I decided to post this deck as is instead of trying to make it how I want it to be. I know that dual lands would be better, but i would prefer to work on the creature base first, then work on the mana problems. So, any advice on the content of the deck?
ookay first offe we want to get that deck down to 60 cards, and secondly having 32 mana is wayyyy too much cut it down to 24, ideally you would want some dual lands but some terramorphic expanses/ evolving wilds will have to do. (or any land that can tap for any color a playset of those and then distribute your plains/islands based on your decks mana curve) secondly look for the cards you really like and the ones you don't really care for, for the ones you like you have a lot of 1-of's and because of that it decreases the consistancy of what you're going for and what you're going to have when you need it I.E. some spot removal when your opponent has a big creature. 3rdly you want to lower that mana curve so you don't lose within 4 turns to an aggro deck. that being said a mana curve is the fluxuation between assorted mana costs throughout your deck, an example of this is if i had a 4 card deck, lets say i have 3 one cost spells and a two cost spell, you'd have a lower mana curve because you have more low costing cards in your deck and that can be a good thing. and in magic speed kills. now lesson in deck building 101 you want to take an idea and build the deck entirely to work with that idea, in your case level up effects, so you want to use as much of the deck is necissary to synergize (work together) with that. Now for suggestions: you'd probobly want 4 venterated teachers as you have 3 which is good, but i still think you'll need 4 for the deck to work in better condition, i'd drop the steady progress and add 4 tezzeret's gambit, i'd also drop the skywatcher adept, porcaline legionaire and i'd also drop wall of omens, hedron field purists, and the kor cartogrophers if you dropped down to 24 lands and 60 cards they shouldn't be needed, up to 4 student of warfares , another kabira vindicator (costs a lot to level up but the effect pays off) i have more suggestions but i've been typing this for like the past 20 minutes. anyway good luck hope i helped. check out my wrath of the ranks deck for an example of some of the advice i gave you.
Thanks for the advice! I know I need to lower the curve, and I prefer to work on land as the very last thing. Dual lands are a must and I will be grabbing some next time I go to my local card shop. I agree I need more of the venerated teachers. What is your opinion on the Time of heroes?
Yeah this deck is a bit messy. Check my level up deck for ideas: http://www.mtgvault.com/imbetteratpokemon/decks/level-up-bra/
Thanks for the advice. The thrummingbird was something I overlooked.
I've updated the deck after seeing what other people think. I still think I might have just a few too many lands in there, but I am unsure what else could go in other than more copies of Time of Heroes or Thrummingbirds. Again, all advice is welcome.
Yeah looks a lot better. I'd even take out the Hallowed Fountains and give yourself 4 more basic lands, just to save yourself some money. I hate how expensive land cards are. The 4 Glacial Fortress and 4 Seachrome Coast are probably enough. And whenever you make the deck if you find your not doing enough damage (I'm not saying you wont) I would switch the Hedron-Field Purists or Enclave Cryptologist for some flyers like Champion's Drake or Coralhelm Commander. Good luck.
Thanks for all the help. I have most of these cards already, and I can tell that it is infinitely better than it was before.
