Deck Description

Just simple Orzhova deck that i made to play with friends at Cockatrice.

How to Play

Just place couple of creatures on BF. You dont have to attack, just remove bigger problems with your spells, add extorts - Profit.

Removals + Life Gain = Nice defence, while extorts and even those hits for 2 or 3 will finally give you the victory.

Deck discussion for I'm Pauper so give me money

Sorry to end the streak of just likes, but I'd find a substitute to Orzhov Basilica. So the entire deck is standard, not just 1 card. Other than that, this could be a fun deck to play!

Exactly what i was thinking! Evolving Wilds is rotating out soon, but could still be useful until then.

OR just swap them for 2 swamps and 2 plains.....
But I see your point. But based on history, they'll remake Evolving Wilds. It use to be Terramorphic Expanse, back in time spiral, but was remade into evolving wilds at about rise of the eldrazi

If this deck was mine I would most certainly add two plains and swamps, but I'm assuming he used Orzhov Basilica for a reason so i tried to suggest something similar.
I'm not sure why they changed Terramorphic Expanse into Evolving Wilds, but I'm sure there is some reason.

Why did they change Llanowar Elves to Elvish Mystic?

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THAT OUT FOR SO LONG!!! ALL IT MEANS IS THAT I CAN'T USE THE LLANOWAR ELVES I ALREADY HAVE FOR STANDARD!!! IT JUST MAKES ME WANNA... SJHGAHJWEHRIORAIOTOUEGYASOUHTOUWOYITEAOIUTIOYAWO4SYOIJWILLWT$HOIAGOUYGISYRSTUIYRZEORTUWYIPUSÎÓˆ?¨GIRS;!!!

Cool. We were only thinking of public views and opinions. Most people I know prefer standard decks and having just the one modern card is annoying

Well, I rather figured the reprinting of specific abilities on cards and renaming them (i.e. Terramorphic Expanse to Evolving Wilds) was a play at both flavor for the set its printed in (Planar Chaos and Zendikar respectively), as well as the creation of a working toolbox of similar cards for the growing popularity of EDH/Commander. At least, it makes sense to me.

Edit: Whoa, don't like Innistrad? I don't think I've ever heard that one before. What's not to like about top-down design based on Gothic horror tropes? (Not being facetious, Mopik, just curious.)

Maybe they made Llanowar elfs, and mystic, so there is more options, allowing for both to be used in EDH. What I don't get is why this deck doesn't have crypt ghost. for extra mana for extort!!

remember when terramorphic and evolving were both standard playable? Ahhh good times, good times. maybe they will do the same with mystic for a short period when m15 releases. anyway nice budget standard. Check it

AzraelTheSlain;
Well, the lore and flavour is great for me, one of the nicest in whole magic i think, but i dont like it because of too powerful cards. It annoys me, magic players are really spoiled today. If a card has higher cost than 5 mana then its useless for them. Also the prices of cards are so high, you can build a deck for one grand for Standard, while thats should be money to buy deck for legacy. Just my thoughts :>

Hmmm. I can see how there are some pretty ridiculous cards in Standard due to the shift that Wizards made for progressively powerful cards, but if anything, I saw Innistrad as more of a metagame block. People utilize certain cards which are at first deemed "useful", and the more they begin to use them, the more their friends come into contact with them. If anything, these cards are really aberrant to the rest of the set, usually of low mana cost and high flexibility (Looking at you, Snapcaster.). It's one of the reasons I have a general disinterest for Standard, because a good majority of players over time begin to gravitate towards a few central builds, such as the infamous Caw-Blade in Mirrodin and the oh-so-annoying "Vampires" of Zendikar. People make cards powerful, not the other way around, in my opinion.

Just food for thought. :D

Exactly, Caw-Blade is great example. Wizards were designing so powerful cards they had to ban them, what is quite ironic i think xd. Anyway, now we can observe that power level of all cards is getting lowered. In RTR only 2 cards (Voice and Revelations) can be told as same powerful as Innistrad's Hellrider, Geist, Snapcaster, Hellkite, Thragtusk (m13 but still same format), Liliana of the Veil and lots of other stuff. With Theros i hope that cards with high mana cost will be played again. Back to roots, screw Scars of Mirrodin and Zendikar, i want Kamigawa's Bushido and old Ravnica back. ;)

agreed... that way maybe more of us can afford to play standard again.

I have a standard deck that only cost me about $50 (Because of pre-release), because I don't just go out buy most of my cards. I trade for what I need. And to Mopik, I love a bit of Scars of Mirridon; it has infect after all.

Still, with cards like the Shocklands making a return, Standard has really shot up in price

Don't expect prices to go down with Theros, either. From the looks of it, R/W, G/W, and U/W are still going to play some pretty big roles (so far), so shocklands are not only going to be in Standard for most of the year, but they will also have plenty of use, as far as I can see. Good news though is that Standard looks like it is going to slow down by quite a bit, with Bestow and Monstrous being metagame mechanics. Heroes may prove to be the only quick aggro cards, especially in White and Red (big surprise there, huh?).

its just to put about 2-3 creatures with extort onto bf and start to throw cheap spells, mostly removals with extort. Removals + Life Gain = Nice defence, while extorts and even those hits for 2 or 3 will finally give you the victory.

doom blade is not a common in standard:S it means that this deck is not pauper legal (in standard ofc) :/ just saying. it's still a pretty nice deck though:)

A cards rarity in the current set its printed doesn't effect legality. In pauper a card has to have been printed in the common format in any set it was made in. It's kinda like how if they reprint an older card you can use your older version, just as long as a card with the same name has since been printed in that format.

Tragic slip is better when morbid turns on and it is cheaper to cast.

0

well i wont, because in this deck very important is spell's mana cost. More mana free = more extorts. Also, there are a lot of problems with stab wound, because it happens to wait forever for a creature stronger than 2/2
