Deck discussion for Color control legacy

As for your first question, I'd say Jaya is better than Spinal Villain because she'll be able to destroy their lands.

But your real problem here is card draw. You need it. Sure, if you can play a Painter's Servant on turn 2 thats great. But what if you dont have it? Also, Jaya is going to eat your hand pretty quickly if you arent drawing extra cards.

I dont think Coastal Piracy is really going to work as a card draw engine here. What creature are you going to attack them with? Servant is vital to the deck so you dont want to risk it. Jaya and Spinal Villain both tap to use their abilities. The first creature likely to actually hit your opponent is Akroma, and if you have an Akroma hitting them you are already winning. You need cards that get you to that point, not cards that help you win by a larger margin once you have.

Thoughtlace seems like a good idea until you can get a Painter's Servant but after you do it becomes a dead card. Pretty much the same with Cerulean Wisps, but at least it replaces itself.

I dont really understand Braids being here. You dont have much high cost stuff, is it just for Akroma? Its far more likely to help your opponent then you, and it basically lets them get around Llawan and your counters.

the coastal piracy was for hopw it was orignially, with protection from blue creatures poking at them

It definitely has some improved draw now with Jace and Windfall.

I still think Braids is likely to hurt you more than it helps you. Llawan can lock up their side of the table pretty nicely and then Braids just lets them slip stuff past it.

I agree that most of the time it wont matter, but there are some enter the battlefield effects that could take out your Servant which might cost you a game you should have won.

Here is a mono-blue version of the same basic idea I just threw together if you want to check it out:
