I made some adjustments to make this deck Standard legal again. Dig Through Time had to go. Added Fevered Visions. I have no idea how it plays now.

There are lots of choices for pacifying enchantments. I went with rays because it costs 1mana and stifles both the creature and its abilities. As for the lands. You could easily just run 20 plains and be fine. The farms were for early mana ramp like you said. The Chancery lands could probably go at this point. They were intended for mid to late game advantage, and also blue splash in the brew concept.

I also brewed up a pauper shadow deck. Check it out. http://www.mtgvault.com/mongomon/decks/white-shadow-pauper/

I read the text more closely. Not the same, but still...

I would run Canopy Vista over Razorverge Thicket, as it is the same thing but also a dual-land like Temple garden.

Have you considered Pendelhaven? It's a green land that can also ramp 1/1 creatures. It's legendary though so one or two should be good.

If you cut the Zendikar fetchlands in favor of full sets of the Tarkir fetchlands, you can shave about $180 off the deck cost.

Just one card is keeping this deck from being modern legal. Do or Die isn't essential to your deck. Replace it with some other removal.

I totally agree that Jace isn't worth the money. If you happen to have them though, then I think they are a good fit here.

To be fair, I think Jace has gone up in price a bit since i brewed this version of the deck. As the only other permanent on your board other than lands and Vortex, he really helps defensively. He is initially a blocker who is super easy to transform in this deck. As a planes, he takes attention away from you for damage and can weaken opponents attacks with his +1. And his +2 lets you Dig more often.

I know you're not running it, but you can add Treasure Cruise to the banned list.

Umm... this deck is already being played ALOT in Pauper format.

Thanks man! I was wondering if I should red source card draw but I think Dig actually strengthens this deck by delving excess lands.

The beauty in this deck is it's simplicity. Still, I couldn't help making a few additions.

So, I went to FNM with this deck, completely untested, and pulled 3rd place. Not too bad for a budget deck with some fetch lands added in. I got crushed last round by a seasoned player playing Esper Dragons. That's a $300+ deck!

All in all, this deck is fun to play and runs well. Plus I already had the fetch lands, so it didn't hurt my wallet one bit.

Silumgar Sorcerer seems really good in this deck. It can basically function as an instant counter spell, or you can combo it with Doom for a nice slap in their face.

Drop the enchantments in favor of Archive Trap and lands. Curse and Memory are both good cards but there are plenty of monster mills here that these wouldn't really be missed.
