Mindcrank + Guildmage, and any trigger. Seeing how far I can get with budget cards. This version uses slow dual lands.

NOTE: Set by owner when deck was made.
I like the fact that you are keeping your older builds, not many people do that.

I have too. If I change a build, and then it loses every game, I can rollback. If it wins I can see why, etc.
Very interesting budget build of this deck. I also play this same deck and have had really good success on MTGO. It’s under $10 on there. Paper is obviously more. I’ve tried taking different directions with my build, but the current version I run has been the most consistent and successful. I’ll post a link in case you want to compare.https://www.mtgvault.com/jlsatchwell13/decks/dimir-combo-budget/
Like the Transmute cards, don't like the 3x budget, or the 3 of Mindcrank or the equipment. Idk the meta you're up against, but the decks I'm playing against usually run that Izzet/Storm list or a Jeskai variant.
With so many tutors, you don’t need as many copies of the combo pieces. The equipment is an alternate win condition as the combo isn’t always enough. With delver of secrets and dimir infiltrator it can end games rather quickly.
Sorry for the silly question, but not sure if I get how the combo properly works: Duskmantle triggers Mindcranck and the other way around in a loop so win condition is life loss rather than depleting the library, right?
Yes, unless the opponent has achieved a crazy amount of life.
I was thinking the same: life gain decks! But in any case, next turn there wouldn't be any cards in the library to draw..Going to try this deck. Thanks a lot!
It mills, AND causes life loss. And there are cards to reload the library just in case it goes to a fringe case game. This or the Treasure Hunt decks are the cheapest you're going to get in Modern with a chance of winning :)
Actually, Monk Green Charbelcher is pretty cheap and can pull off easy wins. I play it all the time.
Mono Green Charbelcher.
I guess that could count. I stopped playing Treasure Hunt decks because of Leyline of Sanctity, Mindcrank decks don't target.
