Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Creatures (3)

Deck Description

Mono-Red budget goblins. The basic idea is to puke out guys and go for the kill. Am finding that if you can't win fast, you stall somewhat, especially against control decks.

The attempt to use the Spikeshot+Basilisk combo is slow and susceptible to removal, so I am looking for ways to make the late game of this deck somewhat better. For the most part, if you play aggro carefully and do not overextend, this is a fun deck to play.

Goblins is an old fallback, just like elves, soldiers, merfolk and zombies. You have to be careful, you don't have to run all goblin creatures, if something would save the deck that you are not running just because it isn't a goblin and doesn't fit theme then you are missing the point. Look around, some non-goblin may save you into the late game, or maybe some other, more expensive equipment. Like if you know you are going to get through for combat damage then try adding Sword of Body and Mind or Sword of Feast and Famine (possibly sideboard for appropriate decks.) Mortipod and other Living Weapons may be handy also...

Check out my Shape Anew Deck, thanks: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=142872

and the turn 5 stall is is just characteristic of your build- aggro, you dont want to be sitting back and pinging off their defenses with collar and spikeshot, you want to be swinging frm othe red zone every turn, try adding stuff like panic spellbomb and more burn to help with that.

Check my profile for a slightly more stramlined version of this, or the following link for a thread devoted to goblin decks in the current standard-

If you want to constantly take out enemies creatures take out spikeshot and replace with Sharpshooter, then equip the Sharpshooter with Basilisk Collar
