Deck Description

Is Sorin Markov the most epic Planeswalker of all time? Is leaching the life from your opponents the way to go? Have a thing for millennia old vampires? Look no further! Show your love for that white-haired bloodsucker with the Epic of Sorin Markov!

How to Play

The Epic of Sorin Markov is the first installment of my Epic Planeswalker series. Nearly every card names, depicts, quotes, or refers to the Planeswalker and thus tells their story (while sometimes using cards for the theme when lacking in related material). The trick is to make the deck casually playable while still weaving the history of the most potent Magical beings in the Multiverse. Enjoy!

Deck discussion for The Epic of Sorin Markov

Personally, I like how you've managed to keep the deck focused on all of Sorin's depictions in the cards and theme. I could see this deck working out decently as a casual deck.

Your mana curve is a bit strange, but that's okay. It's a strange deck. :P

Overall, I think you did a good job with the cool idea you thought of.

Took you long enough! But I appreciate it all the same

I also realized that if I do like you said and make one for every Planeswalker, that means Tibalt too. That sucks

I can't wait to see you do all of them! :D

You should include the most famous parts of their MTG lore in the deck description and explain your concept. :)

Ah yes the old Planeswalker themed decks, take it you went to Gatherer and searched for all the relevant flavour text and cards with (Planeswalker name) included as a part of their name.

Shame you can't do it with all the walkers though just due to merit of some of them not having enough relevant cards; any idea which one you'll do next?

The plan is that if they don't have enough (or if the card is just bad) find a card that fits the theme even if not necessarily relating to the Planeswalker, so I should be able to do them all:D next is Jace, but only because it was requested by a friend. Thanks for checking it out!

Fair enough, I've found that Jace is one of the better themed ones of all the Planeswalker themed decks probably second only to Garruk, which surprised me never expected Garruk to be so good compared to others :O

Well he has such a good storyline! Buff lumberjack man harmonious with nature gets cursed to rot the nature of his surroundings and his own being. Makes for good stuff:3

The deck description is impressive. So is the deck.
A definite +1 like from me.

I'm actually planning on changing it when I get the time to a lore book of Sorin Markov. He has a pretty great story. But thanks!:D

You might want to change your mana ratio. The bar on the site show that you have 6 times as much black mana symbols as white ones, but your land choice doesn't reflect that. :P really cool idea though! Sorin is a beast!

Why only 1 of each walker? I think it would benefit you to have at least 2 of each so you are mire likely to draw a sorin.

Mainly because I'm trying to stick with the cards focused on Sorin. I would have to take some of them (which would disrupt the theme) or move out the ones not focused on Sorin (which would destroy my creature base). Also I am considering buying it, so it helped to keep it under $100:)

blood baron of vizkopa doesn't deal with markov but it works with his flavor in this deck and dropping some plains for dual lands would be good

There wasn't many creature cards dealing with Sorin, so in order for this deck to still work I picked some that

Cool concept and idea will look for your next themed one. Would trim the deck to 60 just cause thats one rule I like to keep. Way to many lands you can trim the plains to get to 22 lands which should be plenty.

Check out my modern vampire deck big fan of tribal and blood suckers!

without many ways of ramping or multi-colored lands its best to go with 24.

I don't know how that many lands came up, but I originally had it at 24

Every time I test this deck, I come up mana screwed. Expensive as it is, I think you need a play set of some more dual lands. Even if they are guild gates, need that black mana.

2 Things: A) YOU ARE RIGHT! I AM the most epic Planeswalker out there... I mean, hey, when have you EVER found a bad version of Sorin???
B) Needs moar Sorin. You need at least 2 of the Sorins in here

All said and done, good job. I may just go and make my own version now!
