POST INNISTRAD ROTATION CARDS ONLYQ: What happens when Mirko Vosk equipped with Fireshrieker and targeted with Strionic Resonator deals combat damage?A: Mirko Vosk procs his own effect once (mill 4 lands)Fireshrieker makes it proc again (mill 8 lands)And finally Strionic Resonator makes it proc again too (mill 12 lands)That's right folks, you mill your opponent your opponent until they reveal a total of 12 lands with this 3 card wombo combo. The point of this deck is to abuse Strionic Resonator and Fireshrieker to either copy your creature's powerful triggered abilities with Resonator(Mirko Vosk's mill, Consuming Aberration's mill, Desecration Demon's sacrifice) or to deal intense amounts of damage with Fireshrieker(Desecration Demon 4 to cast 6/6 flier with double strike, Consuming Aberration with double strike etc)Milling your opponent to death is Plan ADeath through double strike'd creatures is Plan B
Artifacts:You want these down ASAP and attached to Mirko VoskHowever, all these artifacts also benefit the other creatures in the deck (except Fog Bank of course)Giving Desecration Demon/Consuming Aberration double strike is terrifyingOr being able to proc their triggered effects twice is also very powerful Creatures:4 Mirko Vosk. Or should I say, MILLko Vosk? He's your main dude. Even though he's a Legendary creature we're running 4 copies of him just because he's the main win condition of this deck and because of that, you need to draw at least one of him in the game.4 Hover Barrier. I had Fog Bank here before which was a superior choice but Ptonjalken pointed out that it was rotating out. Depending on the deck you're vsing you can sub in Hover Barrier for other great blue walls; Murmuring Phantasm or Wall of Frost. They all have the same purpose, serving as annoying walls that the opponent must waste removal on to destroy. 2 Desecration Demons. They are 4 to cast and they're 6/6 fliers with a neat effect. What's not to love? Synergises well with double strike or having it's effect copied 2 Consuming Aberrations. Given the amount of mill in this deck chances are this guy will still be ridiculously huge. His effect can be copied with the equipments and giving him double strike is just overkillRemoval:4 Doom Blades. They're cheap and they work on everything except black creatures2 Devour Flesh. Who cares if they gain life they're probably going to die from mill anyway.Sorceries:4 Diabolic Tutor. We're playing a combo deck so we need a tutor to find the cards missing from our combo. 4 Pilfered Plans. Drawing is good. Everyone likes to draw.2 Mind Grind. Helps out our buddy Mirko in achieving his goal.I'm open for suggestions to deck changes but please keep cards limited to post innistrad rotation cards!

Great deck, trying to do a dimir myswelf. Just a pointer though, Fogbank is M13 so if its post-innistrad shouldn't that be replaced? (maybe by wall of frost?)

Damn I didn't spot thatI put Hover Barrier in as a replacementMurmuring Phantasm is very nice but It doesn't have flyingWall of Frost is also a great replacement but It costs double blue mana which is sort of an unreliable 3 drop on turn 3 and doesn't hav eflying eithervs different matchups you can sub your personal wall choice in
Daamn. The combo Mirko vosk with those equips rocks hard. What if he can't hit though? Have you played the deck yet? Can you win if Mirko vosk doesn't get to use his ability?
Ill be blunt: If Mirko can't deal combat then his effect won't proc then the MILLING aspect of the deck falls apart. However that's where Consuming Aberration and Desecration Demon come in. Giving any of those 2 bad boys double strike deals huge amounts of raw DAMAGE instead of going for mill. Also, Desecration Demon's effect + the 6 removal cards help clear a path for Mirko to attack directly.Haven't playtested it yet because I'm still trading for 2 more Resonators.I think the deck is still in it's early stages (as you can see from the state of the sideboard)
I rather thought pesky things like path to exile, oblivion ring or their effective equivalents in other colors.. Maybe pacifism would be the worst. Usually decks have some resource to get rid of one creature. But yeah equiping Consuming abberation instead would probably do and I noticed you also play Diabolic Tutor so getting rid of Mirko in your deck would be more difficult than that.
You need to find a way to give your big hitters trample in the case where "Millko" doesnt go off.
You have no cards with activated abilities (abilities with a colon) so illusionist's bracers is useless. Mirko Vosk has a triggered ability (an ability with "whenever"), as does the demon and the aberration.
Right you are. Dat bombo..... It's no longer a OHKO now :(
neat way of abusing mirko :)
also, since you're going for mill... what about wight of the precinct six for a cheap creature?
I would personally find a way for more aberration and maybe some cypher onto Mirko. Paranoid Delusions + Mirko + Aberraitons = pissed off opponent
seems a bit overkill haha
But it works.... And its at least 8 cards in the graveyard
Well, maybe you could run Rogue's Passage for Mirko Vosk, just in case your opponent has the skies covered.
Yeah. Unblockable + some Dimir creatures = a very pissed off opponent!
Even if u copy Desecration Demon's Effect it won't really serve any purpose because if the opponent used his effect, he will already be tapped and your opponent won't really have any reason to pump him up again, and if your opponent didn't use the demon's effect the first time, what makes you think he's gonna use it the second? Also, you should swap dimir guildgate for temple of deceit
True. But this deck was made a while ago. I believe that Desecration Demon was added into here as a method of control against an opponent. The Strionic Resonator was really for Mirko Vosk and/or Consuming Aberration. If you looked at the whole deck before posting a comment like that, things like this wouldn't happen now, would they?
I DID read carefully. Perhaps you do not remember very well what you wrote? You have to think before you start being ironic ok? I am quoting you: "2 Desecration Demons. They are 4 to cast and they're 6/6 fliers with a neat effect. What's not to love? Synergises well with double strike or having it's effect copied "In the above phrase (which is IN the How To Play section) you said Desecration Demon synergises well with its effect being copied, so i replied to clarify that it does not.
actually you are quoting the deck builder as sOrin here is not the builder, Memnite is..... but let us all have a clear head and avoid a battle here.... these are meant to be a way of showing our own induvidual deck styles and the way we create them. I myself have a dif style of deckbuilding then say s0rin does, and the way Memnite does, and your as well Rainmaker.
you are correct. So let me rephrase my post.I DID read carefully. You have to think before you start being ironic ok? I am quoting Memnite (the deck creator): "2 Desecration Demons. They are 4 to cast and they're 6/6 fliers with a neat effect. What's not to love? Synergises well with double strike or having it's effect copied "In the above phrase (which is IN the How To Play section) Memnite said that Desecration Demon synergises well with its effect being copied, so i replied to clarify that it does not.
