Deck discussion for Monoblue Control

id remove two island, and add two Evacuation, or something better along that line. been out of it a bit.

Vapor Snag over Unsummon.

Replaced Unsummon for Vapor Snag.
Evacuations has a heavy mana cost for this deck.

Thanks for comment.

its worth it. it buys you time. they have to recast their good beaters, or all their weenies (tokens die), wasting mana, which are most likely summoning sick, so really it buys you an extra turn. I swear by Evacuation.

A monoblue control deck?
Wait, what?
I didn't know those decks were possible to make!!!!

Joking aside, Mono blue control has to be my favorite type of deck :)

Mana Leak...is nice in theory, but Force Spike is better.
Here is why: If you cast Mana Leak against me I AM NOT going to pay 3 mana. I will let the spell be countered.
However, if you play Force Spike against me I WILL pay the 1 extra mana. And since I paid the 1 extra mana, that is less cards/spells that I can play that turn.

Force Spike slows down your opponent better than Mana Leak.

Also, Aetherling has your only win condition?
What if they remove Aetherling from the game, you lose, right?

Consider Confiscate, Bribery, Control Magic, or Treachery.
With, let us say, 3 Treachery in the deck, you can steal one of their best creatures to win you the game.
Treachery (or one of the other stealing cards) gives you Win Condition # 2.

Finally, Wall of Frost, why the hell does everyone play that card?
Look up Wall of Tears.
Wall of Tears is the wall that Wall of Frost WISHES he could be like, when he grows up.
Wall of Tears absolutely destroys aggro decks.

Good luck.

Guard Gomazoa is another worthwhile punching bag. its not as good tactical wise as Wall of Tears, but it'll last longer. matter of preference really, both are top tier

and Jessie is right on the kill con. id add something dickish, one of my favorites is Hinder + Tunnel Vision

Yes, something like Fog Bank or Guard Gomazoa is very nice.
Guard Gomazoa is going to prevent damage every single turn, which rocks. And keeps you alive.
All Wall of Frost does is make one creature unable to untap for a turn. That is sorta weak.

Fog bank or Guard gomazoa or Wall of Tears is better.

Since you are trying to slow down your opponent with stuff like Mana Leak, I think Wall of Tears goes with the theme.

And yep, stuff like Hinder or Remand slows down the opponent too.

Opponent Turn 1. He plays a 1/1 creature
Your Turn 1. Vapor Snag bouncing the 1/1 creature

Opponent Turn 2. He plays a 2/2 creature
Your Turn 2. Wall of Tears

Opponent Turn 3. He plays a 3/3 creature, and attacks with the 2/2 creature
Your Turn 3. You counter the 3/3 creature with Hinder, putting it back on his library (he loses a turn because he has to redraw and replay the 3/3 creature) AND you block the 2/2 creature with Wall of Tears (it goes back to opponent's hand, and he has to replay it next turn).

End of Turn 3, your opponent doesn't have anything to show for himself!
His Turn 4 he is going to be replaying his Turn 2 and his Turn 3 turns.
....that example almost guarantees you have the tempo advantage.

First of all thank you for comment.

Well explained about Mana Leak. -4 of it, +4 Force Spike.

Until Jessie said, I have never heard about Wall of Tears, absolutely it is in. -4 Aether Burst, +4 Wall of Tears.

Yes, Aetherling is my only win condition. If they try remove it from the game I just counter it. But I admit that I have few win conditions, so -2 Wall of Frost +2 Control Magic.

I like Frost of Wall, that survives against burn damage and -x/-x status. In a weanie swarm Frost of Wall protect better than gomazoa and fog bank. But I dont have protection against flying attack and a wall of 3 mana cost is heavy, so -2 Frost of Wall and +2Fog Bank

About the counters that put the card on top of library instead graveyard: For me I wish that all cards go to graveyard, because I hope that he buy a land card and have less magic spells.

Cool deck! Only 12$? Awesome. Might have to buy this one. I've never been good at building blue, but I love the concept.
