Deck Description

A deck designed to attach curses to your opponent, then kill them with Curse of Thirst or multiplied direct damage, while controlling their creatures with burn spells. Semblance Anvil makes the main mechanic cheaper, so you can cast your curses quickly. Stensia Bloodhall went in for additional direct damage and control in the late game (if it goes long).

Deck discussion for Black Red Standard Curse Deck

you need some counter spells or destroy effects... If your opponent manages to get out a witchbane orb then your major win con just disappeared

I agree! I might sideboard some counters, or some kind of artifact hate cards, like Torch Fiends.

Nice deck. I had never thought of using semblance anvil in this type of deck and I will definitely look into it. Check out my curses deck and let me know what you think, http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=292076.

Your deck looks great. I wish I could justify going creature-less with my own but I just don't have the cards.

It's a good idea, but I like having the Goblin Fireslingers around.

Also I only have one heartless summoning... but the more I think about it the more I like the idea. If I get two more Bitterheart Witches I'll probably go that route.

were's the white land, you cant get out your curse of exhaustion, or did i miss something?

I only included one curse of exhaustion. I never want to see it in my hand, I only want to pull it out with Curse of Misfortunes, and only if doing so would break their deck. Otherwise it can be exiled with a Semblance Anvil, or sit in my hand uselessly. :)

Your curve is a little top heavy. U might want to add in white more permanently with some cards like greater auromancy and Mesaenchantress

I've considered Mesa Enchantress and Auramancer. Besides simply not fitting the theme (curses, woo!) I'm looking at removing the white and blue entirely and replacing them with more control, or some fun artifacts.

Yeah, that could be cool, although white has great control cards, especially wraths

What I'd really like is three more Black Sun's Zenith.
